Haha I really fell for this one!
http://allafrica.com/stories/200804010869.html
In my defense I did read the article after the post date (1st April )
I know Lamin Jobaate and even texted someone to ask for his number(I'd lost it) so I could congratulate him on his 'finds'. I'm only thankful that I didn't receive a reply when, some hours later, I realised I'd been fooled. Lamin already thinks I'm a pretty hopeless birdwatcher. I never look where he indicates. On my first visit to The Gambia it took him three days and numerous attempts to show me a kingfisher which was perched in a very obvious postition on a branch above a pond in the Corinthia Atlantic birdgarden.
Anybody who's interested in birds and heading to The Gambia should seriously consider contacting Lamin Jobaate. He's a knowledgable, enthusiastic, and patient birdwatcher. He can be contacted via the Corinthia Atlantic Hotel, Banjul.
