Cabinet Reshuffle
3 New Faces Step In

President Yaya Jammeh on Wednesday, 19 March, acting under the provision of section 71 of the Constitution of the Gambia, has terminated the services of three Secretaries of States. Three new faces have also emerged to take charge of these portfolios.
Mr. Abdoulie Sallah, Secretary of State for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Miss Angela Colley, Secretary of State of Tourism and Culture and Mrs. Neneh Macdouall Gaye, Secretary of State for Communication and Information Technology, were relieved of their cabinet appointments, with effect from Wednesday, 19 March.

Under the same section of the Constitution, Mr. Jammeh also has appointed, Dr. Omar Touray, as secretary of state of Foreign Affairs, Miss Fatim Badjie, as Secretary of State for Communication and Information Technology, Miss Nancy Njie, as Secretary of State for Tourism and Culture, while Mr. Crispin Grey Johnson has been moved from Foreign Affairs to the portfolio of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology. All appointments are with immediate effect.

In another development, President Jammeh has also appointed Mr. Abdoulie Sallah, the sacked Secretary of State for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology to the position of Secretary to the Cabinet, Mrs. Neneh Macduall Gaye, ambassador and permanent representative of the Gambia to the United Nation, Susan Waffa Ogoo, ambassador to India, Ms. Angela Colley, ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Mrs. Tenengba Jaiteh, as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service.
The portfolio of Agriculture still remains under the president up to the time of the reshuffle.
