Food for thought and some really good points. But unfortunately coming from someone who is not the most credible...

A lot of truth in What the President said, but the time of blame game is over. Do what is right for your citizens and the problem will be minimize. What is good for them is good for us.

The question is how do you overcome such mentality? Education! Education! education! Talk is cheap and action speaks louder than words.

Sorry mother Africa...

Pile of lies and hateful anti-European crazy statements. The truth is that this greedy pig has stolen all that belongs to a whole nation. Next, he shamelessly turns around to lie about gold, diamond, oil, in making Gambia a City State. That is not just true. It is not possible for this snake of a being to fool Gambians in ways he fully knows stand far from reality. being drunk with deceit and jealousy can bring about self harm.

Education, Education Education yes indeed! Now how do we stop the brain drain? Create employment to give people more incentives to stay in Africa instead finding themselves in detention pleading for asylum when captured at sea, or rescued from a lorry or overstaying on a visa? There sure is a lot of hypocrisy going non EU citizens must now speak English to enter the UK. But most of the new EU citizens can't speak English or had no historical relatonship with Britain either! As Jammeh mentioned Africa's relationship with the west has been along one and a one-sided one for most of the time! Dbaldeh - talk sure is cheap give thanks for small mercies because the poor must be able to get somethings for free. Actions do speak louder than words and Africa is in need for positive action for sustainable development right across all 53 borders.

karamba you may yam the swine but don't push it on others. Again it seems you can only spout of your trifling rhetoric from the UK what's up are your feet tied awaiting the political asylum oh I forgot Political asylum isn't granted to Gambian citizens anymore! Spinning and spinning yourself into ever decreasing circles just leads one to land flat on their ass.

Karamba what have you done for your country lately apart from spreading idle gossip. Yes I know that is what some of the old men in Gambia sit and do in the village bantaba drinking plenty of attire. I think I hear your kettle boiling over the charcoal. Those burning embers are useful for boiling water but once they have died out they are nothing ashes fit for the dust. Now with the right potions a phoenix can raise from the ashes and transform and unite the people and get them to work.

The question to answer: Is Gambia a play ground?
This blame game does not sort it. Gambia is a nation of decent people. The brutal conduct of a bunch of criminals does not make sense. Omega, go tell those in the game of hiding what you feel about them. That is not the business of the rest who see their nation in dangerous waves and seeking to rescue it. This child talk of calling people names is a cheap shot. Who do you want to fool? Answer the questions about many killings and massive stealing of national resources. Do you feel proud that young lives are lost in the deep sea because they run away from the monster? That is shameful and sad. Grow up, woman.

Karamba for all we know you could be amongst those you accuse for carrying out atrocities and a criminal to boot! Who knows? But one thing is for certain that you don't have the moral conviction to put your money where your mouth is and get on a plane to Gambia and visit statehouse. Or speak out in the open to voice your convictions your strategy seems to be to bore people rigid with the same old same old day in and day out. As for fooling people karamba enough people go to Gambia visit their families, friends and speak to them regularly on the phone who's fooling who?

What would be more refreshing to me would be to hear more posts from Gambia itself, Getting more Gambians actually in the country to post on to the site and not just self imposed exile gruntles with their own twisted and warped agendas. Now that would be refreshing as for fooling people Karamba that's how I'd sum you up. Anyway as the saying goes there is no fool like an old fool especially one who is so far up himself without a sense of humour, never mind try not to fall off of your perch old man. For all I know these young men were following people like yourself who were probably hustling tourists to get to the UK and then boosting how big they have become over in the UK. But in reality are living hand to mouth every week. My advice is dance a yard before you dance abroad. In other words make your contribution at home because the grass is not always greener on the other side. For those of you who are unfamiliar with my stance on this subject I'm sure you'll find some of my opinions on this terrible waste of young peoples' lives. Again karamba you have a perverse habit of using the untimely deaths and misfortunes of others to berate other people with anypsychoanalysts in the house who can explain your obsession with death.

Sister Omega,

Why bother if someone is a destitute or hustler? What has that to do with criminals raiding a whole country day and night. If you choose not to see these postings, keep yourself distanced for personal comfort. Who cares how you feel? You are exposing your shallow depth of being so insensitive to plight of Gambians. How much do you know about people going to Gambia and how often? Will you answer the simple question: What is the justification for killing so many Gambians and in whose name?

There is too much fear among gambians living in Gambia to post here. They know big brother YY is watching them day and night, at home and abroad, and certainly on this forum.

Rubbish!!! The problem is that too many people over the net peddle the fear factor to the extreme. If I sat down and believed all of the stuff being peddled on this site I would never of returned to Gambia. Internet cafe's are accessible for those who can afford them. We've had people in the past who have posted on to the site from Gambia. Quite frankly most of the youth are probably more into youtube and myspace. Even I've posted in from Gambia and spent alot of time doing so without any hassle whatsoever. Jack I think your theory is an urban myth.

I am not posing as an elder or disgruntled Gambian. How I feel positive and clear inside me is personal. Your wild speculation about me is nothing that matters. I am not PERSONALLY WORRIED. All that I post here is in someone's interest. Some Gambians and other none Gambians have been killed on Gambian soil by APRC government's uniform personnel. Pockets full of raw Gambian tax payers' money get diverted into secret offshore banks by those in whose tight hands our key to the national treasury rest. Tell Gambians if you agree all that is good. The information being shared here has nothing to do with elderly, young, educated, and mid-aged persons of whatever nationality. It does not bother me how you speculate about me. I can never be a subject as you desparately choose. My postings are about welfare of living Gambians and justice for brutally murdered persons on Gambian soil. Call that anything, I am ready to stand by it. Whether you accept the verdict of history anything to bank on, this banditory state of affairs prevailing on Gambian soil, suffered by decent helpless persons will come to pass. Let other people take up any issues of their choice. This one is too important to be ignored even by the most spineless persons. I am not as important. The lives and welfare of many victims is a serious issue to be decorated as fun. Up to the last person pretending about these pertinent issues, information will be constantly relayed for posterity. Happy about that, welcome. Not happy, you are still welcome.

"Lo guisat boppa bi, sentul ghen ga" For benefit of none Wollof audience: Whenever you see the head of an object, expect the tail drag pass. In short, the head of a monster of any species can never be bigger than its tail. Gambians and none Gambian sufferers through the bad hands of brutal persons will come to an end no matter who is happy about seeing others suffer.

Karamba you have no monopoly over empathy or compassion. You see human suffering wherever it is the world is too much suffering for those who have to bear it, and it is distasteful to use other peoples suffering to score cheap points or play semantics. We want to hear about solutions to problems not just rehashing past events. What is it that we can learn from the past so that we can work on today to build a better future for tomorrow? If we are criticizing by all means criticize and make it constructive rather than destructive. Because negativity only reaps negativity. I So you profess to want the best for Gambia. Now show us just what solutions you have that will make Gambia a better place?

Interesting quote Karamba is the translation accurate though? Because as we all know not all objects have heads or tails- over to you.

To the translation: An object is a thing. Such could be monster or reptile of any species. That is not the point. The point is that every suffering meted out to innocent helpless persons will always come to an end. Though it has to be denounced million times so slong as wicked persons refuse to surrender their ugly deeds.

On the issue of SOLUTIONS. The most readily applicable solution is for those who stole the state machinery to surrender it back. Those who staged the unholy July 22 coup are better off stepping out gracefully. That is the start. May be you have better ideas what next once Gambia is cleansed of this matter of fatal cruelty to the innocent. Knowing how forgiving Gambians are, any move on the side of July 22 criminals to surrender the nation's instruments of decent governance will be greeted with compassionate approval. Don't you think so?

Karamba we cannot turn back the hands of time. Can we tell the US to not be existence anymore and abolish July 4th, can we tell the French to restore their monarchy? Can we restore the absolute monarchy back to British soil? Can we rewind history and pause it to eject what we dislike and add on what we would like to happen? Alas Karamba this just won't happen. The Gambia people have casted their votes and decided who they want at the helm and the rest will be judged b history.

Life is too short to be weighed down by grudges the world and Africa in particular is laureated by them what we want is peace, justice and reconciliation to heal our continent from its fragmentation. The State machinery needs people who are in charge of it to utilize it both efficiently and effectively and those who have the mandate to do it is the APRC. Let's hope this round of SOS start oiling the machinery to make it more effective and beneficial to those in most need.
