Very hostile, this last paragraph !
'any of his surrogates'? Perhaps you are referring to me as well, Kay - but i was just trying to get the heat off the kettle because i could see you clearly misinterpreted Lurker's words.
Furthermore i agree to your remark that Mr Jammeh would see Khadaffi as his rolemodel before even thinking of Mr Mandela, unfortunately.

my final comment on this.getting you to understand this point is like pulling teeth.
it seems to me - and apparently others- that the way jammeh swans around the african continent larging up his own importance and shooting his mouth off about subjects he clearly is no master of, that he feels himself to be as important a statesman as, say, someone of the magnitude of mandela - where he clearly is not.that HE sees HIMSELF as important a political figure and in the same league as some of the bigger players. it is not his politics we are discussing. it his his self-aggrandisement and his own overestimation of his relevance to the world and its stage.
YA GET ME?
furthermore, on a personal note, you once again insulted everybody else who has a free mind and a personal opinion by labelling them as my surrogates. you ought to give the other contributors a bit of respect. i am sure you would resent being called anybody's surrogate. you should apologise as that was downright rude and ignorant.

Anna be rest assured, you are a darling, I wasn't directing that to you. I have always respected your thoughtful contributions.
I appreciate you were trying to dim the 'fire' here, but I wasn't really all that hostile, I just find Lurker's analogy fictional and distasteful...

It's a pity that this is turning into a slanging match. clearly there's a difference between what one aspires to be and what one really is. This is the distinction that LURK tries to make. lets look at the facts and avoid being overridden by emotions and conclude this bizzare arguement.Whether or not you agree with LURK's observations; stop creating things he didn't say. if you didn't grasp what he's saying go back to the original piece and read carefully

Bro Lurk,

I am a big time fan to all your postings here. The debate here between you and bro Kay went just normal, as far as i humbly observed.

But Big Moe's latest post below just sours the whole dialogue.

Do you agree?

dalton, i guess that was his view and he put it rather more strongly than some would.. i do not think it soured the debate, however. that was as it was.
the debate remains intact and of the same value. but no-one was more frustrated than i that this point took so many repeitons and still did not get understood, despite its simplicity .
peace to you, too.
small lurker arrived monday early and we are all tired but happy.

I can assure all of you, MOE is completely fine. I have no problem with his statements (as unintelligent as they are). That is why I did not respond to him, not out of spite but because there is nothing to respond to. It was just his opinion...
I have read between the lines of LURKER's writings about Zimbabwe, Mandela and previously about Kenya and the questions he posed to the "good people of the Gambia". My response to him was based on my understanding of his choice of words, but promised to "take his words for it" when he said that I misunderstood him and that he did not mean what I thought him to mean. To me that settles it for now.

Thanks bro Lurker.

At least that much I have known of your debates here. But Big Moe won't stop being him - actually, 2pac trained him 3/4 way, the case at hand with him.

Then little Jatto-Marley, now little Lurker.. http://gainako.blogspot.com/2008/01/dalton.html ..must be a happy moment for you. My congrats to you and the baby's mother. I join you to welcome little Lurker. Heck! heck, of a business too, but nothing could be better news for your family at far & near.

We also move on the debates now with a hand shake.

Regards,
Dalton
