Charges Against Lt Camara & Co To Be Consolidated
By Fabakary B. Ceesay

The prosecutor in the criminal trial of Lieutenant Bakary Camara, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Manlafi Sanyang, and the Italian architect, Domeni Fideli, has informed the Banjul Magistrate’s Court that the state intends to consolidate the charges against the trio.
Prosecutor Inspector Yaya Touray made this application on Monday, 10 March, before Magistrate Kayode Olajubutu. Inspector Touray applied for a short adjournment to enable them consolidate the charges. The defense counsel Lamin S. Camara did not object to the state’s application, but argued that his client’s liberty is at stake. He urged the court to expedite the case for his clients are still in custody. He also made application for the court to review the bail conditions of ASP Sanyang, who he said could not still meet the conditions.
It could be recalled that Lieutenant Bakary Camara, ASP Manlafi Sanyang and Domenico Fideli were on trial for conspiracy, stealing and economic crime alongside Momodou Lamin Sonko, the proprietor of Boto Construction Company. They are expected to be in court today, Wednesday.
