This article by Freedom Newspaper concerning Waa's recent appointment does not appear entirely accurate to me. Depite Waa's acceptance of Jammeh's appointment, I have not heard or seen any evidence that he has abandoned Ndam, his political party. What Juwara is doing right now is working with the ruling government as much as he can to provide his services to the Gambian people. He does not have to be APRC to do this. While I would not want to work for or with Jammeh, or recommend for anyone the same (it is risky and I have no doubt Waa is doing this at his own peril), I still think both Waa and Jammeh's actions in this case is commendable. Jammeh should invite more opposition members to work in the government without unduely silencing them, and more opposition members who can do so should accept positions in the government also. This could be the start of a greater political pluralism and inclusiveness. Now come next election, such opposition members of the government should be free to step down and run for their parties...
