Jaw-Manneh’s Limping court case.
Slowly, shamefully –her court case keep limping without an iota of grip from her captives, from one court case to another. The kind of captivity includes seizure of travel documents and mental oppression on her. Now one dare questions the existence of a true justice under which all Gambians sang in praise from our dear national anthem, thus: “LET JUSTICE GUIDE OUR ACTIONS.” It is apparent she has been both a shield in the front line of the battle against tyranny and an experimental rabbit for the mythical scare-tactics unchallenged in the loose. As court resumes tomorrow for her [courtesy of Gainako sources], it is now a critical task at hand. What next for the non-violent political commentator? It is easy to make certain observations. The kind of kangaroo judiciary is committed to pleasing their boss in fear of being victims of the tsunamis electric switched-broom, and at the footnote of the international eye’s watch. Now should they please their boss and wilt the leaves of justice which they swore to protect? Or should succumb to the tag of shame on their foreheads forever by agreeing to betray justice? Or should they render true justice and champion the righteous way? It remains to be seen, among the many other limping cases, that justice hasn’t been done. At least not seen in action. “Justice must not only be done but seen to be done.” [Courtesy of Foroyaa]
Ditto: What is there to indicate signs of Gambian unity? Apparently, people are getting into petty things and all things look bleak. A lot of political toad-metamorphosis is observed, creeping in all directions. The heavy weight politicians and intellectuals have agreed to sell the Gambia at their selfish price of name, fame, money, material and et cetera. It all comes back to material while compromising principles and true love for the Gambia. The spiritual leaders has been equally terrorized to the extent their independence on sermons towards a mythical leader firing mythical bullets is now questionable?
Under these conditions, what should be your best take? I would think preserving your energy and be silent will be a virtue. I am sure many others will disagree with the words of hope -please never give up.
Brothers and sisters, we need an attitudinal change. [Courtesy of Dr. Baa-Gomez] What we are doing is not working for us. We need to adopt a new strategy. We have to live beyond the pettiness and disunity. We have to live beyond the selfish world. Let’s get real with our national problems. People must move beyond words. Until then, it is our Gambia -equal shares for each and everyone.
Regards, Comrade Dalton.
