When i was younger we used to organize weekly gatherings at various friends homes or houses and we call these meetings ayeh . Well on such dates the one whose turn or ayeh is, prepares food and refreshments like wonjo juice, attaya , chackri etc to regale us with from morning till late and it is normally on sundays too. The eating and drinking becomes boring without games of the playing cards eg UNO, MARIYAAS, Damiyeh or drafts ,ludo etc but the most exciting bit is the meyeh. Now this is a tour de farce whereby some one tries to make up a story about our daily lives and we all laugh about the funny tit bits of normal life stories yes.One day one of our guys Kebba told us about an old pa who after consuming huge quantities of benechin and wonjo decided to talk about his days as a young man .He told his audience that when he was a young man they used to go hunting kondorong ;which is the name for the mythical dwarf reportedly mischievious, but which could if encountered endow some people with certain powers . The old pa according Kebba said they hunted such kondorong and killed at times ten or twenty on a hunt. His wife who saw that the man had gone too far that day jumped up and said ''Ni jai Kondorong !'' The man turned to face her and said ;''yes Kondorong do you want to refute my claim'' which effectively made her shut up. However they were not alone as they had a Bambara man with them who saw that he too most make his contributions to the goings on . so he said that when he was young they too used to hunt elephants and he remembered killing one and hung the limbs on his shoulders to bring home for his family to feast on. the old man looked at the Bambara man and said you liar. The wife then made a rejoinder ''Ni jai! darling you are the one who started it, ya ko togne deh. wollahi''. Come oooon! lets enjoy enjoy any good one for me would be appreciated
