Sister, Salimina maybe a guy be its no harm to call him she for we all men in the Gambia are now reconsidering to be women because we feel ashamed to see ourselves as the root problem of our motherland.
Could you possibly help us from now on to find a creadible woman to lead us for a trial just five years. Then if she does better than us,no more male presidents. Thanks peace |

Hey, Has any one read the marabout's confession against his own nephew?I read it and cannot understand the head and tail of it ....He said to me Ndur cham would overthrew the government and would give it to somebody and I think that it would be me (said the cousin)..Come-on are people in the Gambia possesed? How can a man of God speak like that? oh oh oh oh ooooooo Gambia... and when you listen to the coup plotters themselves ...His excellency should forgive us for he know we are inexperiance soldiers under the chain of our commander who was using us.What a stupid statement.I wish I was a state prosecutor. My friend some people are so unmanly. If they truely wanted to overthrow the government,so be it it was evil but they choose to do it.They should just be like the kartong men who defied the court marshal and demanded that Yaya Jammeh is the same rebel as they are and if he is not brought b4 any court 4 overthrowing a democractically elected government, then they too have commited no crime in trying to overthrow him period. But men of grass stood on tv begging and putting the blame on one person Ndur Ndur Ndur.I wish Ndur was there to defend himself that he never threatened anybody that if you don't join you shall be killed that they all agreed to overthrow yaya and thats that. |

First i will welcome myself back to the forum, for i was away following the split of NADD, which was difficult for me to consume. Anyway its not the end of the road.
Well Gambia's problems could be blamed on our leaders but our cultural settings needs changes. we need to change individually, then our family, then kundas, villages, districts, divisions and then the nation are a large.
We are being taught to be corrupt from childhood if you observe certain activities in our culture. From the food we consume home our Dad's are given the best part cuase they are the head of the family. The big head of the fish is given to them. Lesson number one leader should always take the best part. we grow up with this idea. it affects our ethics at work.
The alkalo of a village in kombo can take land from their owners and sell them for his personal needs. Alkalo's dont usually have much our our nations finances yet still they not given much attention for their malpractices. there are about 20 police check point from banjul to basse. police can take money from drivers no problem some passengers will even argue with the driver if tries to delay paying the police. Head of departments, managers, principals are one way or the other abusing their post but no problem their's are minor. These people with little financial exposure are abusing the trust given to them. i will be quite if a principal friend take my child of is short of the school's entry points, thats ok.
Jammeh, who is the most powerful in the nation and can do whatever he wants should be given the privilege as that of a teacher, principal managing director. Lets tackle corruption and mismanagement of state fund from the grass root.
Well we are putting up good ideas and i belief most of us leave abroad but how many of us are willing to go home and work for our nation. Jan next year is the best for we can go and contest election atleast a few of us might be elected and can make great impact and changes in our so called parliament.
Good luck to you all. |

Hi maple, Well I for one don,t know the real name of some members but if I do, I would want people like Momodom,Janyanfara,salimina,Dalton1, Kondorong Bamba, Babylon, sister omega to come home and try their chances. You people may be what Gambia really needs for your postings on Bantaba is so education and aguementative that sometime you think it is a real house of parliment. Please don't just stay in Babylon and educate us,come home and tell us who you really are.Don't be afraid of Yaya he is no angel(Malaika) but human like any of us.I for one is not against Yaya because of tribe (for we are the same tribe)but he is a real dictator and thinks Gambia belongs to him and any person who thinks like him I shall go against you.We all have our umblical cord burried here and we all are equal.I and many like me are here campaigning against him and there is nothing he can do to eliminate us all. No wonder all Alkalolus, chiefs, commisoners, and most civil servants are doing their best to rally behind Yaya so that he could promote them or recognise their efforts and leave them harrasting people and being corrupt. If Yaya rules the next five years, none of you in Europe,Asia,America and any part of the world would be able to feed your families for we will all leave the provinces and come to live in compounds you biult so that you feed us for hardship will double and Yaya doesnot care.So now is the time to make a decission or face it with us together. Thank sitasungo |

hi there, sitasongo, if we did as you advise, go back and educate them and lead by example would they listen i think not. but if i could give them access to more media and education that would be a start. for me to go back and stay and teach and hope that they will learn is not possible. it is better that i support good schools and people who are there. perhaps Each one of us that you have named could sponsor a teacher at the university or make a large donation so they can get books and learning materials. gambia's future is the youth who are there. regards |

All over africa we are seeing the same things over and over again.Where do we stand? Our future is really murky. The way out seems to be well sealed up.Are we a continent of lilliputs?
We need to change attitudes and dont rely too much on God.We always think that God will come from the sky and solve our problems but sadly will never happen. Is the only part of the world where some one can commit atrocities without being dealt with unless someone comes to our rescue. Are we incapable of running our own affairs? |
