Well done Bev! Enjoyed your pictures, saw you went to your (and my) favourite place Tendaba - hoped you had some peace and quiet there with all these students around. Saw you went to PB too.........Loved the picture with the shells, very artistic!
Have to tell you: i had a picture of you in my mind which isn't at all like the real you, but it is hard to erase!

A single picture tells more than thousand words can explain. Bev, you have done a tremendous amount of good work by digging out these brilliant images of people and places. This is real show of commitment on your part. Well done. I have always thought your persistence is a matter of the good concern you have for Gambia. You are really Gambiabev.

Bro. Karamba,

You speak for me coincidentally. I congratulate Bev for her pictures and for her passion to share it with us. Now, memories lingers.

O yes! Bev...you got the smile that will not winkle the face in ages...smile more, and get younger daily....we need to see others emulate you.

So who is the lucky fellow

Don't mind about our past debates. Don't let such debates bother you at all. You are truly beautiful. I wonder what you looked like in your mid-twenties or thirties. Princess Diana. Share with us as time permits you...see, i am a little guerilla, hairy like one.

Bro. Kay, are you jealous now???
Don't worry, I am in my late twenties.
I won't take your Bev...

Forget about politics for now. Go Bev! Go!

aight now! Thanks for the pics..

From Dalton to Bev.with kind heart.

Sunday's Love

In the garden of love
Visible floral whorls in millions
Beautiful and colorful flowers
Scenting the neighborhood
With tranquil of love and hope
During sunny and rainy days
All swaying left to the right
Back and forward, swaying
With the breeze of gentile winds, swaying
Bees and flies feeding on floral nectar
Birds singing their melodious songs
Humans gossiping the flowers
In jealousy of the nectar insects
Pointing fingers to the floral whorls
For a pick of a beautiful ‘lily’ flower
In love and admiration.

No Dalton, I am not jealous. Bev is my friend, if i have to declare that on Bantaba . Long before I saw her pictures i knew she is a great person and a woman of substance who loves the Gambia and works very hard to make a difference in other people's lives.
She is doing a great service for the Gambia and desrves to be recognized and respected for it.

Thanks everyone for the brilliant response.

You are all lovely to me. I like to think that I am just a compassionate person responding to needs that I see. But it is beyond that. Gambia is now half of my life. I spend alot of time thinking and talking about Gambia. Alot of my true friends I have met through my trips and bantaba.

There is something in the bible about 'in giving we will be receiving.... or is it in the prayer of Francis of Assisi....think it might be. I love that prayer. Can anyone help me and put it on here?

My life has been made fuller and much happier by my visits to Gambia. I have GAINED much more than I have GIVEN.

On my Gambian photos I always look happy and peaceful and YOUNGER! LOL! I think how I am feeling inside shows on the face!

I am never happier than when surrounded by little children.

Anna, my daughter is an art student and wants to continue with photography. The arty pictures, such as the shells, are hers!

What did you think I looked like? LOL! I'm 47 and middleaged...never pretended to be anything else.

You know what? Late last night i didn't even realise there were so many pictures behind the pictures, if you know what i mean . So just now, still in pyamas and with my coffee, i looked at all 200 or so (maybe more) pictures forgetting my real surroundings and wanting to pack my suitcase. Saw some interesting things, like the road to Tendaba being repaired (must show them to my man tonight, he's from Jattaba and he will be so happy that his village will be more accessable again, and i am sure he will see familiar faces).

Bev, encourage your daughter - i saw some very beautiful photos.
So yesterday i only saw your picture in (i think) your schoolteacher's uniform with long hair. The more recent ones are more like i thought you would look like (very British, especially with the freckles). Very brave, Bev - to give away so much of your private life - don't know if i would have taken the risk myself. You even looked at ease in African dress (something i personally feel white women should avoid wearing) Anyway, i liked you better in your short skirt with the flipflops.
Liked your students too, they looked like my first graders. I am sure they had a memorable week!

Right after i will have posted this message, i am going straight to the Travelpoort site to see when we can go again. You made me realise it is high time , you made me homesick!

I only wear African dress when it is given to me and forced on me! The only time I chose to wear it was for Tobaski, but I do feel Ok in it at the time. I'm very relaxed in the villages I visit. It really feels like my second home.

your pics are very nice. and remind me of my own experience. when i was in six form we had a similar experience with a school from Market Rasen in Linconshire, UK. we had to do so many activites locally (bob-a-job) so that we could raise funds to host them and they did the same for us when we went to the UK.

Such exchanges should be encouraged between schools in the gambia and the UK especially if possible at earlier years in school so we can understand and be exposed to different cultures.

When I was in 6th Form we used to have the University of Sussex visit us. We never had to visit them in U.K. though; perhaps we would have all disappeared then...

bev, the saying, it is better to give than to receive, you will find your reward in heaven, and you reap what you sow. You have have sown good seeds by your deeds in Gambia and your reward is happiness. . You look great.

Bro. Kay,
Rightly put! It was very common then.

Back to Bev's pic---

hey Bev,

You still didn't choose----
either bro. Kay
or Dalton.....
trust me, i feel i am too much into humor..sometimes....with these 'hot' pictures i am looking at...........haaaaaaa!

but here is a single shot of Dalton...middle-aged Gambian.....but Kay, you should match this.....

any ways, most of what is debated here (pics) has nothing to do with previous postings. The pics are defininately nice and they speak a lot like noted by bro. Karamba. It's the way of God to love whole-heartedly regardless of idealogical differences. For now, we let Bev enjoy her pics, though, with due respect, some of her postings in the past I found funny. That doesn't mean we cannot debate harsh or mild. It all depends on the atmosphere...

Have a good day all.....

aight Bev, enjoy your pics....once done, i will pick you for a debate...

Regards,
Dalton

Hmmmm, Dalton & Kay using this site for some romance hahahahahaaha ... it sure beats all the recent cyber bullying Nice photos but I agree with Anna on this one - I'm too cynical to put anything too personal in the public domain!
