my friend has just returned from gambia over the weekend, he said people are feeling the pinch, he stayed just down the road from elton it was mainly spanish tourist looking for winter sunshine. He made a plea get rid of the BUMSTERS, for the first timers it can be quite threatening, also the trips and tours need to be updated or the approach changed. he said Gambia at present just feels OFF, and the uncertainity of the dls, government and other factors will not help. is there anyon in the tourist industry that can give an indication of how the booking numbers are stacking up.
