Thursday’s humor; A Snake in a ‘daba-kurtu’

According to this narration, the man was out in the bush fetching firewood. In the process, got so weak, hungry and tired. He decided to rest underneath the ‘bantang yrio’ by the main tree, just as is typical in the area.

In the ‘daba-kurtu,’ the crawling snake managed to penetrate in it through one of the open leg entries, and ‘Ghari’ was up. Suddenly, the man felt some strange movement; very unusual. To his utter surprise, the feared one was in control, enjoying its new home with a support of the man’s body extension.

The man at his best wisdom, avoided making neither a noise nor a physical movement, but managed to lift his hands in the air, waving to passersby and pointing furiously down to the ‘daba-kurtu’ with his pointer finger; pointer-pointer.

Who can guess what happened after that?

Note: Intended solely for the jovial part of the story.

The escape more humorous than the beginning.

Remember any movement on the ‘kurta’ means giving the snake a chance to take the first opportunity of a bite. This man is a very wise guy, endowed with wisdom. It was just by accident that his ‘kurta’ was terrorized by this poor serpent (be cursed it!) So dropping the ‘kurta’ in the man’s idea was suicidal.

I tell you what; the ‘kurta’ was already heavy, loaded with stinky puree accompanied by the flow of gun shots. The snake was more desperate for a safe haven than the agonized man. By the time that the little serpent was poisoned on the eyes, mouth and penetrated by powerful bullets, it exited peacefully without damage to this gentle fellow.

But you will never tease him with it “Kuu lebeh daba-kurtokono.” Mee'in, don’t even learn how to mumble the above near the guy, you surely know what you will get.

Lesson: Probably the man was in the snake’s yard, but how could this little serpent choose the man’s ‘kurta’ to be his yard on a broad day light?

i thought you were a little gainko? how can you be scared of them at the mercy and guadiance of your leading cows?

after all, a kondorong with fore-knowledge of future happenings.

just off the jokes, nothing related to happenings any way. i think that the 'kurta' man applied common sense. just my opinion, and it is entirely developed from traditional story telling.

thank you always. you give me courage when i need it. when i read your threads, i always like to rejoin, only limited to the little i can share. hopefully, a day will come some day when a kondorong and dalton, and others will sit on the same table and laugh about matters ongoing now.

but be cursed that little snake.

Brilliant breakfast time 'scream' - thanks.

This is a good laugh! I enjoyed it, but felt sorry for the poor man

Momodou, i can't get enough of it - especially the moment the man is looking at his leg thinking 'what's tickling me'.........
