Whilst Mercy Ships is excellent and a great service,I am sorry to say that the services they have offered in the past have been limited in the operations they are able to offer, leading to many people attending the screening centres only to be told that there are limitations in the surgery that is offered, which as far as I am aware is mostly facial and dental, any orthaepedic operations are not available, things may have changes over the years but that was certainly the case in the past. This is a great service offered free to people so I am not critising at all,but it would be very helpful to know what conditions operations were available for.Transport in The Gambia is quite good but costs are high to reach the capital from far away places in the country. Can anyone clarify the present situation? |
