Molly, Gambiabev didn't say she led her into the circle to be circumcised. What she was alluding to is the coming out ceremony they held for the circumcised girls. The harm has already been done by then. In fact The customs will bar Gambiabev (an uncircumcised woman) to attend a circumcision ceremony. She will be and has indeed been allowed to attend and participate in the coming out festivities.
