All of my postings are out of genuine concern for what I have observered or heard in Gambia.
My life is getting increasingly busy with the needs of local special needs pupils.
I would like to encourage other TA's pt teachers to be more involved..
I would also like to encourage pupils to contact kobo and jambo etc,
As an individual I feel what I can do is very limited. I do hope Action Aid will continue to support such projects,

I am certain that we all share your hopes, and understand that you are busy, you are not alone in that ,we all are, this posting is not your way of saying that you will no longer continue to post is it? If you really feel that you want to leave The Bantaba then so be it,if that is the case rest assured that your postings will be very much missed.

No I am not leaving. But my life is very busy, there is increasing competition for my time, hence the title.
I am moving house soon. My school is being inspected after half term.
So lots of pressures here at home.
Gambia has to take a back seat at the moment. |

The world would be a poorer place if it was peopled by children whose parents risked nothing in the cause of social justice, for fear of personal loss. (Joe Slovo - African revolutionary) |

bev, if you can get a last minute booking even if only for one week, i booked on tuesday and flew out on the friday, it cost me a lot more than money, time off work etc etc. but it was worth it, it gave me the chance to see my students, touch base with other people and to lay to rest some ghosts. i have no regrets, i have come back to bills, but they will get dealt wi th. life is too short. go for it |
