mathew jallow spoke my words. www.thegambiaecho.com on the sana sabally saga.
thanks mathew . my admirable friend yero and DR saine have there darkers drawn as well but i most say sana during his short tenure brought some good work ethics.
guys let's be frank ,how many civil servants use to go to work on time ? but with sabally even my mentor wasn't spared in accountant general .so sana was also responsible for waking-up gambians to the fact that life is not all about yusu ndurr , jaliba and office gossip .let the gambia says some kind and hard words to her hero's. gainako you have a big task .rtd col. sam will not let this things go if he is man enough. let him speak .as for chogan ,i know his gran palace in london .so for him .it is matter of crabbing himself by the collar . gainako DOGATA

Santanfara,

You are quite right. If Sarr is able to pick on Sabally at this hour, that is ample evidence to show that Sarr is alive to the issues at hand. For a man of his zeal and prolific writing skills, this is the time to keep him busy on the keyboard if he TRULY stands for Gambia. Without that, the mere condemnation of Sabally is little sense. Where is Samsideen Sarr? Where are the facts? This same Sarr served as Minister. That means at some point in time, he fully embraced not only the coup, but the forceful rule of dictatorship. Was Sarr prepared for the job Jammeh offered him? Why did he not turn down the offer and lived a hero ? Now that Sarr chooses to silence Sana Sabally for Sana not stating the truth, let Sarr now tell Gambians and the world the truth he reserved for all the 13 years since July 1994. This will make future trials shorter and efficient. Let us meet Sarr in Banjul for the new novel "Meet Me in Banjul." Now the floor is open. Welcome Chief Sarr.

dbaldeh you may ask sarr why did he not reject yahya's job offer after prison . also his cellmate mamat who rejected the job offer and went on to do the university extension program is not harmed in any way .so sam sarr was an accomplish at some point. they all have this distorted believe that they can outsmart yahya .
ask sam sarr where is mamat .mamat is a true soldier who have principles but sam sarr .

As promised by Gainako, the write up to the link stresses our unwavering stand in calling for nothing but the truth to come out.

http://www.gainako.com/default.htm

We believe everybody must be accountable to their own actions during and after the military take over in 1994. Many were eye witnesses to what transpired during those dark days. So if you are in possession of valuable information please spill the beans.

It is also Gainako's firm conviction that there are more people who should come out and confess to their roles and responsibilities. People like former Ambassador Essa Bukary Sey who convenient writes from the enclaves of some state in the United States, had a significant role in representing the Jammeh regime to the international community. He writes as if he has no responsibility in associating with the brutal regime.

Sey need to come out and tell us where did the young Soldiers get their funds during their early days? What kind of deplomatic reaction was metted to the boys after they took over? Why was Mr. Sey recalled and how comes he did not return to Banjul if he was not associated with any wrong doing?

There are more people who took over positions during Jammeh's regime and advocated vividly for the Junta. We call on everybody who was hired and fired to tell us what their role was. Why didn't many of these technocrats stand tall and oppose the fail policies of the military? Are some of these people speaking now because their share of the cake was taken away from them? How could we trust any of these people any more?
We need answers and should anybody want our Editorial to be accountable to something we did not represent well, please call us on it and lets debate the issues.

dbaldeh ,samssudeen sarr has clarify one fundamental reason for the easy success of the 1994 coup .on the whole our gambian army were just a joystick for the nigerian colonels. this men where their just to be told what to do and what not do .any body could have send jawara packing. why didn't he say so earler instead of yahya pounding his chesh for some grave mistakes by dawda jawara . jawara is to blame now.
can any one recall the government setting up a commission for the dead soldiers of nov 11 . i can't .so yahya is also a key decision maker in the massacar in as much as sana is.
i was angry with officer sarr for been quiet untill yesterday .he made some things clare. now we can take another step.

Uncle Santanfara, Sarr was quiet for a good reason. He played a significant role in the failure of the Gambia National Army. His leadership at the helm spells disaster and distrust hence the reason why Jawara brought some Nigerian soldiers who might be the most corrupt in the entire nation of Africa.

How Jawara trusted the Nigerians at the expense of Sarr and his soldiers tells all about what kind of leaders were heading the army. It was good that Sarr broke the silence, but it equally revealing of his inefficiency in running the army. There is obviously enough blame to go round here.

I honestly hope that we can all learn from the past and present to prepare for a better future.

KOBO'
The late Moses Senghore died before the July, 22 takeover. He might have been part of the planning, but he died in a car accident right after coming from Liberia around the same time that soldiers from a peace keeping mission started protesting for pay and eventually coup d' etat. May his soul rest in perfect.
