Jammeh infected Gambians with a way of thinking and it appears good man Alhassan is a victim. In Jammeh's Gambia it is the business of citizens to vote the president in power. Once the votes are gone, it is nobody's business to tell the government what to do and how to protect the citizenry. That is exactly what big man Alhasan is preaching. The Jammeh regime is a tax munching scheme. They take everything from citizens and not ready to give back anything. They take votes, tax, and even our fundamental freedom. Then they turn around to do what their sweet or sour mind dictates. Talk about it you are damned or killed. Read what Brother Santanfara raised about the tax rise on commercial vehicles. There is a massive difference between 3000 and 6000 Dalasis. For all that, Jammeh is responsible. He is not paying for anything and yet he apportions the biggest cut of resources for his selfish personal security. I share the view that a responsible government is there to secure life and property of citizens and Alhasan will have a big struggle to disqualify Gambian citizens from enjoying that basic right. Thanks to brother Santanfara for the example on commercial vehicle tax rises. What is a tax for ALHASSAN ?
Brother, You have some point when tax is concerned. Remember if there is no police station, it will take time for them to come. I don not know if you knew a thief called Kebba Koto. He never killed though. In the end we all want security for the citizens.
I like your open mind about the debate. I am sure you'll come to grips that I do not seek to crush Mr Jammeh as a person neither to prove you Alhassan wrong. We have to look at the bigger picture where you, me, and Mr Jammeh fit in our particular slots of responsibility. When it comes to that we disagree to agree at end of day. These are all positive inputs to the nation building process. Kebba Koto I am told was a notorious house breaker who enjoyed being in prison more than being at home. It was no shame to him being seen in prison uniform. At least that man openly admitted stealing and ready to face the penalty. That is better than a group of people stealing resources of a whole nation and pretending they are chosen by Almighty. That is the case with politics in Gambia. Most politicians identify the role as a fast track to amassing private wealth without committing themselves to fulfilling their obligations. That is seriously wrong.
