i can't aggree more dalton . pa mbye is doing is bit to make our bleaked country's journalist smile about some thing. just two hour ago ,i was informed about my old friend being appointed as the replacement of yaya's never ending positions. he is a very intelligent guy though. he is a jola by tribe and he reside in birikama . i am disappoined in him but the excuse the person who told me the story he said ,if he reject the post he is unsure of what will happen to him .it seems as if yaya has hepnotise the entire civil service. what a flemsy excuse. the guy was working for a non-government organisation .mansasulu is putting the cart before the horse. just on his famous topic he was saying lots of things about democracy not effective in the gambia why? he give some good reasons yet recritise pamderrry for doing his best to pin jilanka. |
Surah- Ar-Rum 30-22 "And among His signs is the creation of heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colours. verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge." Qu'ran

I think, like any of us, Pa can be criticised if he is wrong. I've talked to him many times, and i know he welcomes being critisied to a great extent, unlike many others. That doesn't in any way mean he is right. And he is reporting the news, he gets it the hard way, and he doesn't charge any one one a penny. What ever he is doing remains his deeds, to be 'accountable' on, now and for ever. But it looks like others have a problem with his name. (that tickles me greatly.)
The Kujabi in position now, might be native of foni -our area, not sure yet. He might be a realtive to the Bwiam kujabis by clan. Others described him as a nice 'errand boy'. It remains to be seen that the topic under discussion have some creeping roots, and something is in it, something true, something we discuss about...
Below is a piece from the echo. Have fun with it. We will conclude on the topic soon, as more unfolds. Thanks for your support of truth, once again. ahjaramah.

Personally i believe everyone has imperfect qualities. Myself i am sometimes ashamed of what i may have done years back with benefit of hindsight. So must we also understand that Jammeh is human and as such fallible.
However, the difference is to realise one's weaknesses and be prepared to adjust than be a stiff-necked dreamer believeing that one is always right.
What Pa is reporting is that some change may have taken place which cannot be refuted. As to who replaces who or which title is a matter that no one seems to know in the gambia.
If i remember well Ceesay was saying that he had not been moved. May be Freedom has insider information when Ceesay's fate was being decided before Ceesay even received the decision. Thats always a possibility.
The Office of Higher Education was not tabled in the National Assembly i belive nor was a Supplementary Appropriation Bill sent to them for funding. Therefore titles are so difficult to be sure of at anytime.
If the National Assembly does not know, i dont think its fair to blame Freedom for errors in titles. When you can be Commissioner today and then a Governor the next, a minister today, a Secretary of State next etc.
Their style of writing must be apealing to some Gambians because whenever you look at their articles, the readership counts sometimes go to 1000 readers.
Nice rejoinders.
It is sad more to say that the 'hire and fire' is a daily routine. i don't really get surprised at thing any more. We've seen people get killed, and radi or tv news will say they escaped when a gele summersaulted (daba & Co). We've seen others killed with life bullets (Deida and April 10 th students). We've seen others burnt (Koro). Others still in jail. others getting fired hourly and reinstated the next minute.
Now, demographs do study trends and make predictions of next like events.
Like they always told me " go abroad and you will hear news of home."

WO BULA DEH. (stop that)
Another Mandinka saying:
IKO NYI NO KANA NETEH TUWO DOMO. NYI NO KOH, WOTO NETEH TUWO YEH SUNKANG BULA ( The rat was asked not to eat NETE TUWO. However, the rat replied that the NETEH TUWO should stop smelling). NETEH TUWO is a fermented seed of a wild fruit in the Gambia added to a famous Gambian dish called MBAHAL and has a strong smell. |
