I can feel and sense a passion of sharing information from you and there is nothing more satisfying that being the educator. You educate and see the contributions of your students in society. This is why I have so much respect for teachers. They give from the heart and no one can pay them for their services.
The teacher is how I see you and the lessons are your contribution to this and other forums. To be passionate about something is to drive satisfaction from it even though there might not be tangible evidence of the satisfaction.
Staying with Bantaba and other forums gives us the opportunity to make impact on lives we would have never had the opportunity to even imagine coming across. This is why I believe in Bantaba and am proud and lucky to be a part of history. I cannot be more grateful to Modou for Bantaba. We compliment him by being active members of Bantaba. Am in now and forever regardless.. what about you professor Cornelius? The world needs education and information, are we going to share or reside in tide corners and be held hostage against our will??? I hope not...
Mawdo Demba,
Not for one bit that any in this forum will doubt that Uncle Corne. is a learned man, a man of his style, and a great contributor, who managed to compile a lot of things in this forum. I hope he will forget about leaving and stay to educate people. One of the links or forwardings i like best was the prophet Muhammad's last serman which he forwarded here, because of my love for Nabi Muhammad saw, i also loved him for forwarding that piece. Uncle corne.'s parts on Prophet Musa (Moses-Peace and Love of God be upon him), and the Torah will be a vacuum in bantaba cyberspace.
I perhaps, in my part, just 'too lazy' to follow all the links, or to honestly say too busy to follow it all.
Uncle Corne.; we love you and please stay.

A POEM FOR UNCLE CORNE.
Uncle Corne., so sweet, so dear, just like the mexican cornbread, that i had for lunch on an aggresive, unforgiving Midwest winter weather.
So, how come our Torah gifted man, Will leave just for the differences, in opinion, as if he cannot stand, a weak, but creeping candle light?
So, no more prophet moses, or two many links from Iraq, Jerusalem, Iran or the Gambia, and how boring life will shape space.
So, how come, no word from 'miens', of great meeting, but separation place, added no consoling word for our active pal, Uncle corne. to pull back his sailing boat, and face it's direction back to cyberspace. "Brother's keeper", said uncle corne to me, made me script him this poem, entirely his' to read, laugh and smile.
So, how come, Serene too left? And no word from the "meins', to germinate her usual flower avatar, to flourish in our cyberspace for eternity.
If something, but the unity of beings, charity, like the old adage goes , "begins at home."
So Uncle Corne., short for cornbread, watch before you leap, like has always been my stance, never announce leaving, for, it weakens the spirit of momentum, and is of the least of deeds to, immitate from any contributor or reader.
So why let our forum 'mein' down, when they are there at midnight, midday, dawn and twilight, and they will never announce leaving, and at times they would wish they did quit, because of all the raining blames, which they always took, rather as theirs', which never was a case in true life.
As i end, by the God you bow to, Prophet Moses of whom you follow, and the knowledge of which you, excersised no selfishness in sharing , with 'mein' of Gambia baa, in this great place of meeting, so how come a piece like this, will not make you smile? will not make you laugh? will not make come back? will not make shake the hands? and adjust to meet the demands, of those who pronounced their love, moral support and companionship, in this and other places.
i give you 555 nanoseconds to , demonstrate your love for God, Moses, Muhammad and our cyber, great 'mein' .
a poem, uneditted, freely written for uncle corne. if so you decide to leave anyways, like the great teacher of english said "May your road be rough. if you don't know what to say, say the same to you." |

It is about a second or more time when someone raised the issue about postings from Cornelius loaded with links. It is also becoming a growing habit of some Bantaba compatriots to adjugate over what others contribute. Cornelius made his point quite clear when he gently advised that those who choose not to click his links must safely skip them. Could not be anything simpler. It is a habit in some readers even at colleges or universities to assume that what they choose to read is more popular choice or what they hate to read is mostly dispised. Even in our home text collections, we hardly pick dust from some of the best cherished titles over long time periods. It is normal that some people will not read the links posted by Cornelius. That is by no means any good reason he must not post them. It is the second time I found my self passionately tempted to defend that Cornelius deserves the fresh air to breath peacefully after posting all the links within his reach in a given day. Go on Cornelius. I do not expect that this one issue will cause a simple slide to drift you. This is no response to any of those who feel differently. It is my humble exercise of Bantaba freedom of expression, by the same rule Cornelius too holds no lesser powers. Happy times to you all. |

Dalton here is a song for you composed by a Shepherd boy who became King:

Dear Dear Dalton, your poem touched my soul. Vanity is going to frame this poem.
Bantu man does not say “I am” but gets confirmation from those around him that he is/ exits. To read or not to read? I looked before I leapt.
“Never announce leaving, for it weakens the spirit of momentum” How true. It’s the Sunnah of Rasulullah – salallahu alaihi wa salaam to not announce what he was going to do, in some cases, for example when he left Ali –alaihi salaam in his bed the night he fled from Mecca with Abu Bakr (r.a.) with whom he hid in that cave…….over the mouth of which brer spider(s) had woven the symbol of the United Nations…. And - of course in speaking about the future we should always say “God willing”
“How come a piece like this will not make me smile?”
Are you kidding can’t you see me smiling over here, from ear to ear?
Will not make me laugh?
Surely, you can hear me laughing on this our Gambia’s 41st birthday and praying “ Blessed are You Hashem our God, King of the Universe, Who has kept us alive, sustained us and brought us to this day.”

Being present and ready to share to give and take criticism is what Bantaba and even Independence and progress is all about. If we don’t respond to criticism, then how can we grow? “Criticism is as inevitable as breathing” isn't it? But it’s love that is the sunshine and moisture for flowers to grow
Cornbread did read, did laugh, did smile- and it is mitzvah to be HAPPY and I’m grateful to you for making me feel the riches of showing the love that shines and shows that you love, that I am loved and I love you too.

You have caused me to read chapter 16 of Samson Raphael Hirsch’s HOREB…..its entitled LOVE and is a comment on “Bear love to thy neighbour as to thyself: I am the Lord” (Leviticus XIX 18) |
