You know Ebra is a social mixer and entertainer I believe. He is motivating you to speak out Kondorong , although slightly wrongly i think.
One thing that appears certain is that many dictators past and present have this strange aura of mysticism about them. People sadly tend to believe they have supernaturalor extra-terretial powers. Many dictators themselves entertain this kind of thought among the population.
However , I don't personally think Jammeh has any power at all other the political power he wields today. If Jammeh can do anything at all he should not have waited until today to claim those supernatural powers. He has been a poor malnoutished junior officer in the army for years without claiming or doing anything to that effect. Why now ? Has Jammeh ever treated anybody ? Can anybody come forward and testify ? This is an abuse of public office.
If Jammeh is what he claims to be (or what his puppets claim him to be) why that thick wall of security around him ? Without his large security guard , the Gambian people can break Jammeh into pieces within minutes.Did anyone see the last moments of the all time , most powerful Saddam Hussein Al-majid who used to brandish swords in front of international tv cameras ?
Let's stop kidding ourselves. The Chairman is NOTHING BUT A PLAIN HUMAN BEING! He is nothing nut a president by accident. Does anyone believe in the big bang theory ?

I am just amazed. You just need to read the full story on the Observer which i posted under the topic: Gambians are Blessed. Even Medical doctors were "amazed" with the success.

You are right mysticism has always been used to exploit power and legitimacy for a man who came to office through force. Well my only problem is why we have a medical school if the executive can cure all of us. Lets close the hospitals and shout "allelujah"

Although I caanot attest to the credibility of these story from the Echo , it very much adds to what I was just saying about Jammeh below in my previous post.
Please read it:

Ebrima G. Sankareh, Editor in-Chief

It was one of those fine days when the Gambian sky was blue, the cumulus clouds form a bedazzling canopy across the horizon and Gambian President Yahya Jammeh was having tea with his guards and friends at State House. As is customary in such occasions, President Jammeh was giving his audience first hand fibs on how his ancestry was able to conquer the heavens and how those magical powers were miraculously bequeathed to him as a young boy. His narration says our Yundum Barracks correspondent OX, was couched with fascinating details that lack the semantic precision one would expect from a Chief Executive.

By a twist of irony says OX, soldiers at the Denton Bridge were conducting their routine traffic stops when a man minted through the window of a passenger van that they stopped and ran into the thick mangroves swamps. No sooner had the unidentified passenger melted into the mangroves than he fired gunshots in the tranquil air that blew as President Jammeh was chilling with party at State House. The entire team of soldiers and security personnel at Denton bridge were confused at the unprovoked firing of shots by an unknown gunman. As soldiers combed the grass and shrubbery to make sense of the incident, the Patrol Sergeant, one Sgt. Camara sighted a white plastic bag ferociously flying towards the station. He screamed at his men "we're under enemy attack!!" and called for more firepower to resist the supposedly mysterious enemy flying mid-air. Despite a hail of bullets, the unknown object continues to fly towards the station. The panic stricken Sgt. Camara quickly alerted the signal officer Sgt. Karamo Manneh to call for reinforcement from State House where President Jammeh was narrating his cock and bull stories of ancestral heroism and valour.

Pandemonium at State House

Once the Signal Officer, Sgt. Karamo Manneh radioed State House, pandemonium ensued. One soldier was so nervous that he kicked the teapot like a soccer ball; it flew and landed on President Jammeh's left ankle. He screamed and the guards apologized in unison as he was hurried to the bunker. Says Ox; the nightmare at State House defies the bravery that these State guards are reputed for. It was unimaginable how these much feared men reacted and how President Jammeh ran into the bunker argues OX. The Sergeant on duty, Sgt. Paul Bojang was so terrified that he could not assemble his men amid the crisis. A scene of negligence discharge of firearms raged. Corporal Samba Bah (a.k.a Batcho) brought a grenade launcher into the guardroom during the briefing session and before he could be stopped, he had inadvertently detonated the deadly weapon. A loud noise erupted and the launcher ruptured the roof from where one could visibly see the sky. Soldiers ran helter-skelter as they take cover. Some of the soldiers mistook the grenade launcher explosion as the enemy's arrival at State House. In the confusion, Private Lamin Sawo pulled in an LMG before he too could be stopped; the machine gun was on rat-a-tat tat, rat-a-tat tat, and rat-a- tat tat. You could hear everyone screaming for help but no one could make sense of the situation. It was difficult to differentiate the noise from machine guns and that of the numerous farts even from the bunker says OX with a sense of humor. As the situation went out of control says OX, suggestions were underfoot with respect to hiring the seafarers to flee through the sea. As that option was nervously being studied, Sgt. Manneh radioed State House again that they could stand down that after all the hitherto unidentified object was a waste plastic bag. That they brought it down after numerous unsuccessful attempts. He apologized that the incident was regrettable. Everyone had a sigh of relief and an atmosphere of general laughter ensued. The brave man of ancestral valour was asked to come out of the lion's den. The following morning, reveals OX, he moved to Kanilai.

Editor's Note: As usual OX invites President Jammeh and all those named in this story to dispute its veracity. I will never give you a false story Mr. Sankareh said OX. Next week, I will give you a good story from Masuang in Guinea Bissau promises OX.

Bro you are funny I read this from Echo laughing my @$$ off. Anyway, Kotoo I think you know my stand point. I try to be jovial, and to make the debate more interesting. I guess Jammeh's spiritual or superpower came in being just now. He is 40 something now and if you can remember, prophethood normally comes at that age. Who knows he might be a special person. I only hope that more Gambians benefit from him. We might not even need hospital(s) again. The setbacks would be mass redundancy at health Department, because we may not need them anymore.

Jack,
Sciense cannot be facked. Lokal healers have been withn us for ages.
In South Africa, lokal healers work hand in hand with hospital doctors in giving medicine to the hiv-possitive. The South Africans have come to realise that only the medical doctors can help.
That one man from Gambia can cure HIV/AIDS with lokal medecine is a joke. Sometimes we must judge ourselves and compare it with reality. What happened at the hospital is still new to me. I have never heard of such.

I don't mind ebra bullsiting but uncle alhasan the wise giving cridence to the story is sad by all means . i have come to respect the elders of the bantaba whatever our differences . we don't need to waste our valuable time on jammeh's silly politriking. why couldn't he make tuti faal pregnant during their marriage tenure ? why should his mother be treated in belgium ? the guy need to sort his head out . telling the truth about jammeh is not hating his personality .he is in charge of a nation not a compound so some bantaba memebers need to realise that we do not have any personal hatred for the man jammeh as an individual but as a president he is messing up the country .there have some development but most of them are not sustainable . now in the gambia we need gradual development programs that will be link up with our economical capacity and the ability to maintain what ever changes that have taken place . this is not what yaya is doing . my banjul uncle alhasan is obbess with the past but he is being living in europe for more than a decade yet he still let the past linger in his mind , this is sad . i have little respect for jawara as a former president because he fail us ,but life was sustainable to many .with yaya life itself is unberaiable to many of our brothers and sisters. just yesterday i bought a hundred bags of cement each bag costing d220 . how many farmers can build even a mudd hoouse on that price ? yet yaya's fans are banging on about winning 64% of votes . crazy.
