Come on, don't act as if you are new to Gambian politics. What did one time most popular politician SM Dibba did and where did he end up? How about all those people in Badibu, Brikama, one time opposition strong hold Bakau, Foday Makalo and to all those political opportunist from Koina to Kartong.
People are acting as if this is new in our politics. Where have you guys all been during all the flip flopping during the Jawara days? Please give me a break and tell me something new.
If you are new to Gambian politics then please welcome to the gang of opportunist who have no principles whatsoever. I would challenge people to talk about something else besides cross carpeting and betrayal. After all what just happened to the Agenda of opposition Unity?
We should stop giving excuses why such things should continue. Because others did it is no reason for it to continue. To progress and develoop, we need to change course.
After all the time he spent in prison, beaten to near death its strange that he is making a u-turn. I hope the story is wrong. There are ceretin principles that must never be compromised.
We can forgive, but should not forget. Perhaps it the old adage "if you cant beat them join them".
I understand he has right to choose any party but what are we to believe regarding his allegations against APRC. Its a credibility problem.
Waa is actually not anti- PPP as most people think. He applied to the party and was rejected and then went independent. Had he been accepted by PPP, he could have been an ex-PPP cabinet memeber given his family connections.
In addition there are stories why he is called MBARODI( Fulani word for a lion). I hope those stories are wrong because they do not point towards democracy. Having his training in Bulgaria during the cold war, he rose to the top of the student polit bereau. Well i think i am digressing. I just wonder why he was not well suited for PDOIS with its early socialist agenda. |
