whats wrong mama africa, is that mama's voice is not heard, only papa's, it a bit more could be done for the women of the continent who old the future of the continent in their hands, africa wuld go further.
secondly blind stupidity, countries who are neighbours of each other do stupid things, let their borders be taken by outsiders and before you know it you have no idea who is your neighbour.
thirdly greed, how many bank accounts in europe hold money that was lent to greedy officials, if this was given back and used for the original purposes their would be a few more roads, schools and hospitals built.
fourthly history, for some contries it would never enter their heads to bury te hatchet over some tribal dis-agreement, so land disputes just fester.

What is wrong with Africa is already known. What we dont want to do is to change course.

Just read the link posted by Dalton 1, what an excellent piece. The author is obviously very aware of the problems and has hit the nail on the head. What I am surprised about is the lack of reaction to this honest piece of writing.

The Problem with Africa is Africans who don't love themselves or one another.

An African country's president, claiming he can cure HIV/AIDS patients with the Qu'ran in one of his hands and in the other one a collection of 'natural herbs' seems a good example of what is wrong with Mama Africa. Where are the leaders that are not first of all out to glorify and enrich themselves?

When an old African dies, it is as if a whole library has burnt down.

Gambians are more Catholic than the Pope.

Is the Pope a Catholic? (=standard answer in 'the west' to an unnecessary question)

But seriously; are you happy with that? I can't imagine that you are, even though you put these big smilers in.

We in the West are so used to critisism of our lifestyle, politics religion etc, and we freely critisise it ourselves at times, constructive critisism is a good thing, and most of us can handle it, it is not a sign of being unpatriotic, as thought by some.I have an awful feeling I could return to this country in 20 years time, and nothing will have changed, and the only people that can make a difference are the Africans themselves - where are you and what are you doing??

Like Tracy Chapman said: Dont worry be happy

Stress only builds high blood pressure and eventually a heart attack. Sometimes one must find time to be happy.
