Former nawec boss repents and asks for presidential mercy.
He was led to the state house by religious leaders in the person of Head of the Supreme Islamic council banding and Imam ratib mr. Kah.
This is travesty of justice. YOU CAN ONLY PARDON AFTER A LAWFUL CONVICTION IN COMPETENT COURT OF LAW. TO PARDON BEFORE THE END OF A TRIAL IS A MOCKERY TO THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM.
2. Why should religious leaders ask for pardon. Is Jobe the only person sacked from his Job since 1994. Is he the only one in jail at Mile 2 prison. May be Jobe needs to tell people why he deserves a pardon when thousands before him had no opportunity of a pardon.
Well shakespeare was right:" when beggars die, there are no comets seen, the heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes" or as Morgan Freeman said, " some birds are too bright to be caged".

Can someone tell me how to get to statehouse and be pardoned. I have a long list of Gambians dismissed with no pensions and left roaming the streets. May be Jammeh is not aware of their dismissals and as such may pardon them.
I heard he is a nice man and very compassionate. These people have no political clout or connections to seek a pardon and i plead for presidential prerogative of mercy and release such people from jail or re-instate them to their positions.
I hope he gets the message.

I would recommend that the office of the ombudsman open a forum where all those civil servants wrongly terminated could seek redress if they need one at all. My feeling is if i were wrongly terminated, my first port of call would have been the ombudsmans, then the courts if all fail me, i will not certainly fail myself. I would look for another job and live a hassle free live. The job may even be a self-employed one. |

But why did jobe not take that route. May be its a slow boat to China and one may never arrive. Well i think this trend is dangerous to instilling discipline in public service where religious leaders have become trade union specialists. The two dont match. Give to Ceasar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God. |

Kon, this is one of the reasons I stopped listening to our so called religious leaders or elders who cannot stand tall and tell the truth.
If you want to find religious hypocrits who pick and choose who to back and who not to, go to Gambia. How could an imam or leader of the Islamic council be so ignorantly bias?
This started way back in Jawara days, when imams were turned into praise singers and beggers from the government. Most of them are as corrupt as the very officers who go to them to ask for a pardon.
How can you ask for a pardon for a selected few?? Off course we know their pockets are filled with promises of cash which blind them from the true word of God. All are giving deft years except him who knows what each persons intentions are. It is so sad to be poor and ignorant. This is why Sanna Sabally had to send some of them to jail because he saw their double standards.
This is the saddest part of our society, when so called leaders allow themselves to be used so openly. God reward them for their deeds.. |

Many poor gambians got fired but no big shot open the gates of statehouse for them. How about master Tamba and the others. Are they not gambians worthy of access and pardon. No wonder young men die trying to reach spain because no one wants to know you if your pockets are not lined with euros or dollars or pounds. |

This is the most significant evidence of lawlessness in Gambia. Yahya Jammeh himself is the most notorious thief to have landed on Gambian soil. He is both ignorant and arrogant about legal matters. He feels above the law and can choose whom he wants to have seated on his right hand making the laws bend down to its knees. This is dangerous for Gambia. It is one big joke that will send a whole country down sea. Will Gambians have to permit an ignoramus tear the law books by willful damage to people and their decent dignity? |
