Thank you for that Sab - it makes for interesting reading. Quite a challenge. And all those teachers?? It's already hard to get in to Gambia College......

Thanks too for your best wishes. Will be back in just one short week.....

Lily, extend our love to all in Gambia. Tell them to hang in there. Help is on the way. No doubt you are right, education is key and without it nothing can be accomplished. This is why I keep insisting that Jammeh got his priorities backward. Development starts with the human knowledge which can be transformed into production.

The task however, is bigger than Yahya can do. Government can only do so much anywhere. The general citizenry must be willing to spearhead their own agendas. It is rather unfortunate that neither the Government nor us is putting education in the forefront. Keep the hope alive and safe journey to the beautiful land, full of promises, and unconditional love from each an everyone you meet. Thinking about it makes me home sick no matter how bad it is. I am preparing to visit as well. Happy New Year to all...

I was a BEHIND BROTHER to the core

I used to be one of the bread carriers at night through Wasulung Kunda. You are bringing back memories. Did you know that most volunteers used to drop one or two loaves of bread in the bushes and later come back for it after "lights out" and organise PONSEH
