The one-drop-rule could also be applied to me. Not only that my ancestors came from different parts of Europe - my sister was born with a classical mongolian spot and a friend of mine, a biologist, defined my hair-structure as 'more Asian than European'. In our lineage no Asian or Indian is known. Who was the secret lover???!
In his book 'The Seven Daughters of Eve' Oxford geneticist Bryan Sykes declares racism as the biggest nonsense of all and points out that a 'typical' European genome can be more similar to an African genome than to the one of his (white) next door neighbour.
well i think most scientist today accept that the word 'race' is misleading especially with what we know about genetics.
Take for example, the new Prime Minister in Sweden,Fredrik Reinfeldt. by simple definition he is Swedish and 'white' whatever that means. Apparently his great grand-father was an African-American.
its almost impossible to tell by just looking at people. Albinos have blonde hair. it all depends how well you understand genetics and dominant and recessive genes.
True. This reminds me of a young lady from Chile I once met. She was partly of German origin, had blond hair, a fair complexion and green eyes. Only after a while I noticed that her face was absolutely Indian. This was irritating for me at that time.
