More potent POWER! Yes you are right but they can't BRAINWASH us as we have new breed of intellectuals and other educated potentials to REFORM the political order and move Gambia FORWARD. We don't have HOUSE OF LORDS as in Britain or Upper House and Lower House as India for our hounourable veteran politicians. The veterans appear to have a crude style of politics, weak leaderships and DIVIDE AND RULE POLICIES! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH let them retire gracefully from Gambian politics and the opposition parties need to REFORM!

While i believe that every Gambian should have the right to electe and be elected, for the opposition to make a headway, the current brands must leave the landscpae and bring in fresh blood so that the 41% absentee voters can come back.

Well again, its up to the Gambian people to decide that. As for brainwash, Gambia is a society that can easily be asked to go to hell and they will gracefully look forward to it. We are more catholic than the Pope.

Right, kondorong; for this excellent piece you deserve some bitter tomatoes extra!

Let's hope that the new/old government remembers this simple, but important truth.

I would recommend Jammeh and APRC to consider instituting TRUTH, RECONCILIATION AND NATIONAL UNITY COMMISSION for a mix of all veteran politicians to coordinate legislative activities and promote an ideal political climate for PEACE, DEVELOPMENT AND STABILITY!

tRUTH AND RECONCILIATION WORKS BETTER IF THE "VICTIM" SETS IT UP AND IS IN CONTROL OF THE POLITICAL ARM OF THE STATE. THATS WHY IT WAS SUCCESSFUL IN SOUTH AFRICA.

In addition, only when an aggrieved party is willing to forgive even though they have authority to punish the agressor but chose to be more human and considerate. Only in such situations can such a commission have a lasting impact. You can only forgive if you are incontrol. Just like Nelson Mandela said that ".. only free people can negotiate..." a note he sent out of prison to his dauhter ZinZie who read it at an ANC rally. It was at this time when the S/African government tried to negotiate with Mandela in prison without the knowledge of the ANC hoping to divide them and only guarantee his individual freedom. It caused a lot of confusion but the note helped clear the air. The note furthet went on to say "... my freedom is inseperable from yours...". Mandela was a chief BUHABA.

Infact, when Mandela was released, it was not announced and was hurriedly let go. If you watch the tapes, he had an oversized reading glass which belonged to his ex-wife Winnie because he had none with him. They tried to deny him a heroes welcome but it was wrong calculation.

Sorry i am digressing.

Have you heard of the Mandinka saying: KO JI LA NYI NYA. Or better still, if you are a Chritian the parable of jesus regarding the seeds that fell on hard rocks that never grew, the seeds that fell on better lands and watered but never had good seeds only stalks and those that fell on land but had no rain.

Merely having a seed is no guarantee of a good harvest. It must be on good soil, enough rain and also weeded to for a good harvest. You do the math.

If you had done geography, you would rememeber rain shadow regions studied as part of of orographic precipitaion. I lived in a rain shadow region of Yorobawol. The leeward side of a mountain is usually denied rain whilst the windward side gets precipitation.

In Yorobawol, we are still waiting for the crumbs. Thats what i mean by my garden drying up. Its another parable of the Kondorongs.

"It is a mockery of the electoral laws, which requires that all registered persons must be published on a register and displayed in public places to allow those who would want to challenge the registration of any person so listed. In our constitution, people who have been found guilty of certain crimes cannot vote, non-citizens cannot also vote and a host of other issues. Residency is also another condition before one can vote in a particular administrative area. That is why there is supplementary registration to not only register newly qualified Gambians but also allow for voter transfers.

Therefore if anyone can vote just with a mere voters card and do not need to go through the process of scrutiny, and there is no guarantee that those issued with cards were thoroughly checked, then why have a voter register in the first place. It is a waste of resources and energy to have one. It should just be open to any one from anywhere and there should not be any restrictions regarding voter transfers or residency requirements to vote in a particular constituency."

TRUTH, RECONCILIATION AND NATIONAL UNITY can be set and the opposition party leaders and vetran politicians given the mandate to address issues of concern in improving Jammeh's legacy in human rights, democracy, justice and law enforcement.

The law enforcement agencies and public servants have a unique role in JUSTICE, PEACE AND STABILITY. They roles are the elements or perpetrators of "IMPARTIALLITY AND FAIRNESS" OR "JUSTICE AND EQUITY".

EDUCATION is an issue for GAMBIANS. Even the intellectuals are craving as PUPPETS AND STOOGES notwithstanding the calibre of soldiers and law enforcement agents we have. A mix of many school drop outs and those recruited to serve as AGENTS from youth groups and APRC party stalwarts!

Dismantling them and re-orientaion of these POWERFUL FORCES AND UNPROFESSIONAL AGENTS is a big challenge for Jammeh and the APRC to suit all stakeholders; both citizens and international community.

GAMBIA FOR ALL GAMBIANS IS CALLING 000 NOT 999! BACK TO ZERO!

There is an intricate NETWORK AFFECTING GAMBIANS in terms of freedom of expressions, human rights and denial of CITIZENS (CIVIC) RIGHTS! I mean the re-orientation AGENTS doing the DIRTY JOBS is another big challenge in the new era for PEACE, PROGRESS AND STABILITY!
