By Lamin Fatty

President Yahya Jammeh has warned NAWEC Staff that he will have zero tolerance for anybody who wants to sabotage the progress of NAWEC. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the New Basse Power Station, recently, President Jammeh said it is a choice of resignation or delivery. "If you want to sabotage my efforts to change The Gambia into a city state which cannot be achieved without water and electricity, I will not only dismiss you but also send you to jail. It is simple, if you cannot work for your country resign honourably for your own good. Infact this applies to all NAWEC Staff not only for the staff at Basse. For 12 years I have been warning you."

President Jammeh added that from now, promotion at NAWEC will be based on merit not how long you serve there. He called on NAWEC Chairman to advice his staff, as he will not compromise any sabotage again.
