"NRP IS NOT DEAD"- Hamat Bah

Hamat Bah, the Secretary General of the National Reconciliation Party (NRP) has said that his party is not dead but still alive. Mr. Bah dispelled this rumour while addressing a crowd of supporters at a meeting held in Kunting, in CRD.

He said he, together with Lawyer Ousainanou Darboe, have the same thinking which in the interest of The Gambian people; that that is why they joined their parties to become one party.
Secondly, he said Darboe has more supporters than him so he (Lawyer Darboe) should lead him. The said that is how they agreed and now they have decided to be one. He added that they surprised the people during the nomination day because people never knew who will lead the alliance. Mr. Bah also said that people were saying that he cannot or would not be able to move with Darboe, but he said since they joined to become one, they have never quarreled or argued on anything. He said if they are voted into office to rule this country they will construct all the roads. He explained to the people that they should vote in the Yellow ballot box which is carrying only Lawyer Darboe's photo, because the law does not allow the box to have more than one photo and they decided to be one. He urged the people to vote for them.

In a meeting held in Basse in URD, Mr. Hamat Bah of the UDP/NRP/GPDP Alliance told large crowd of supporters that during the last elections, UDP recorded 36 percent of the votes, noting that this is why he should lead the alliance. He added that in any alliance, the one who has the largest support, always leads, which he said was not the case in NADD.

He said that they are not fighting against any tribe but against President Jammeh's regime because they want peace in the country. He further advised Omar Khan to take it easy and be mindful of his activities against the opposition adding that most of those who were with Jammeh have reaped what they sew.
He also revealed that Gambia is in the bad books of the US government and has problems with almost all major international donors.

Therefore he said such a person cannot bring about further development. He said his government will ensure that they restore everything in order for the country to have cordial relations with the outside world. This relationship he said will ensure easy traveling to European and other countries.
