This is an awakning for all potential NADD supporters in the diaspora.
At home in the Gambia, the poor but conscious masses are and have been making up the minds as to the best prospects for a properous destiny.
Those elements whom the compatriots in the diaspora gathered in order to form a national coalition that would have had an easy ride to remove the present dictatorial regime have now shown their true colours.
It is only the naďve and the half-hearted who are talking about negotiations.
The naďve are doing it from a genuine point of view knowing that it is the easiest way to remove the monster.
The hypocrites are talking about negotiations in order to render the potential NADD supporters in-effective and counter-productive in making an early dicission that can easily transform the political landscape.
My personal appeal to all NADD supporters or potential sympathisers is for them to understand that their is no time to waist in raising the pertinent issues that could raise the consciousness of the Gambians at all levels.
These is too much time waisted on answering to trivial issues. This is to be understood as deviationistic and must a avoided at this critical juncture.
NADD is a people's political instrument with a progressive and democratis presidential candidate and executive. The structures are being build though with great hardship.
Notwithstanding, there is an ever increasing and dynamic support in the home front. Our valuable time that had already been waisted in the past three years must be re-coopurated into an effective campaign experince.
We must make it a point if duty to raise a question or two that would raise people's consciousness and determination to free themselves from the yoke of dictatorship.
We should fill the net pages with progressive articles from now on and learn to ignor the trivialities coming from the diviationists.
The presidential elections are more crucial at this stage than the National Assembly election.
All hands on deck.

Biraago,
Welcome back after the short break. Your words are truly assuring.
By Gainako
It is true that debates are nothing but arguments. Activism is nothing but a struggle-any positive endeavor. Consistency yields a great deal of respect. It occupies full space of a struggle. In fact a true struggle never goes in vain; the fruits of it must be reaped. Here, one is required to forward their arguments, and the readers will look at your stance. Those that read to get goodness will find that, and the rest that read to find fault, also may they find fault always with the truth. Indeed, that would be a first sign of hypocrisy, finding fault with the truth. But that some have to spit their anger, and the good thing is some of these people will never see. Most of these people you don’t know, it could be the very people you praise with one alias name who turn “were-wolves” to make ugly points. Even in the ancient gypsies, were-wolves cases are sad and pathetic.
In the Qur’an, when the last chapter from Allah swt instructed the prophet that He [Allah] perfected and completed the religion, and chose Islam as their way of life.
This verse was received with shock, but many of the prophet’s disciples reading well what it meant cried and celebrated the verse.
NADD
My first piece in this forum is about NADD (the Union). It happened that in the early days, I authored “Good luck to our coalition.” The union that was composed of five political parties, namely, PPP, PDOIS, NDAM, UDP and NRP. During this time, I was opportune to meet and dialogue with most of the top brads of any of the constituent parties. I have piles of tapes documenting most of it, since mine was to sell unity. Though, I have a party of support, but that unity yields more fruition. Then, the impasse for leader selection, where some parties quitted amidst “mistrust”, as the case for Lawyer Darboe, and amidst “inequalities and sharing unbaked cake”, the case for Hamat Bah.
If I were to support any other than the Union, then I would have returned to my party of support. But no I cannot betray the union. I will support the unity to the last minute, and any that left the union, when such an individual according to the M.O.U stipulations had an equal veto power, where they could block any thing from passing through the 12-people committee, including any flag bearer selected, then such a person owns blame in bringing about disunity. The same M.O.U that they signed says clearly that “NADD becomes no more when all the parties that originally formed NADD withdraw.” That didn’t happen.
I understand that people have their parties of support, just like me; I understand that people have their candidates of choice, just like me; I understand some are related to these people or come from the same tribe, just like me; I Understand that some received benefits from some of these people. With all that considered, no one is being forced to follow someone, but everyone have a right to convince the opposing party of how much good his side got. I very well respect the existence of other parties, though their way of existence looks funny. I believe that leadership has to be negotiated. I believe in equal shares of power. I believe in a constitution that guarantees its citizens “Let justice guides our actions.”, I believe in a check into impunity and self perpetuating rule by reducing presidential term limits to short term. I believe in written deals, and defining those deals well without any intent to deceive to jump start one’s political ambition. I believe in uniting to get rid of tyranny. This in all respect helps to avoid coups and counter coups. I believe tribe majority or having more supporters shouldn’t be a propaganda tool, but rather taken to be an advantage to convince and win the hearts of the masses. I believe that a leader must be a servant of the people, and not one imposing him or herself on us. I believe that a leader must be humble, brave, consistent, non-traitor, not selfish, and not power hungry. I believe that a leader must not insist, rather lend an ear to the oppressed masses, and go by that tone. Where all or most of these qualities are not found in one, it becomes a serious mistake to allow relationship bonds of any kind to interfere with our minds’ independence and true judgment to forward one who shows the opposite.
In one of the hadiths of the prophet, Muhammad saw, we are told
“Misali nafikun salasa. Eja hadaza kazaba; Eja wa ahada aklafa; Wa Eja tuhminah kana.”
This simply interprets that the signs of hypocrisy are three. (1) When he speaks , he lies (2) When he promises, he fails (3) When any trust/covenant is signed with him, he betrays Going by this hadith, I was quick to see the irregularities, and my own path to stay with the union will be consistent. My own support of the union, no matter how small in words or in practice must always flow. If comes a time when the union does wrong, they will get an equal stake of criticism from me, just likes the others are getting their shares currently.
Now to conclude, NADD supporters must not be in the hands of distracters, and where all negotiations to unite fails, and the order comes from the flag bearer, then such a time must not be wasted. The time wasted already with intent to deceive and terrorize is enough. The lessons learnt are enough. If ever one finds him or her self in a state where you obviously know you are right, please don’t loose those grips. If any is seeing unity moving our country forward, then such person must have endorsed NADD by now.
In ending the piece i will borrow a qoute from Lawyer Darboe at a fundraising dinner for NADD when he said about the Bumper stickers -
"Put one in your bathroom, one in your room, and another on your car.", Lawyer Darboe.
Long live the Union! Long Live NADD! Long Live coexistence !

Ajaaraama bandam
I have a parssionate love for people who are sincere, consistent and with a sense of direction and purpose.
You should see to it that this piece is didtributed to the other forums and online journals. I love it. It is lucide and explosive in a silent nature for those of reason and insight.
I shall be contributing a follow-up soon.
May Allah (Subhaanahu wa ta'ala) bless you and all the rightious. |

By the way, the records has it sounding with louder echoes. From start to finish, all we support is a strong unity. where unity fails, we will not fail;where victory comes, ours is to rejoice;where our verses are doubted, we reference the records.
Below is a piece i authored in the good old days, the very start of the cooking. curled from the archrives of Allgambian.
Long live unity and long live the union !!
