All set for Nadd; Hon. Sallah to grace the occasion.

News coming from the Minnosota Local chapter-STGDP, has it that all is set for Nadd. In an e-mail that the local chapter mailed to Gainako, they wish to invite all Gambians to give their last respect to Nadd, and to stand firm in the last hours before entry to the Gambian Palace-statehouse. The keynote speaker, Hon. Sallah, is expected to give the developments registered so far by Nadd, and how they intend to boot out the tyrannical regime of Jammeh in the weeks to come. Below is part of the message they want to reach to Gambians.

"All are invited on August 13th, 2006 at 4 PM at the same place ( Hampton INN Hotel) to wish Hon. Halifa Sallah and NADD good luck in the up coming Presidential elections set for September 22nd, 2006. The Presidential nomination is set for August 28th, 2006. Please come for the last rally and support NADD. Please bring friends, families, children and spread the word around to ALL GAMBIANS and FRIENDS OF THE GAMBIA as well. Please stand up and be counted. The masses are the makers of history and NADD is about to set history on the African Continent. Hon. Halifa Sallah will be the guess keynote speaker via telephonic conference call. If you want to solicit any money, call Christine Sakuna @952-403-9912", Uhuru Cherno, STGDP-MN local chapter.

Note: All set for Nadd. The Fula man reminded me Nadd means enter in the positive way. This must have been a well calculated name.

Brother Dalton give us the conference call number so we can tune in on time. I hope Halifa will lay down a three face plan for NADD and the future.

First, they should contest the elections in the fiercest way possible to give Jammeh his money's worth for the elections. The end results is probably a fore gone conclusion because APRC will be returned to office. This is not to admit defeat before the fight but to expect the unexpected.

Second, Halifa should clearly spell out NADD's strategy for the long term fight for the Gambian people and how they intend to contest the forth coming Paliamentary elections. Increase NADD's reperesentation in the house will give them better opportunity to represent the interest of the people in the house. The more members we have in the house, the more likely they can influence government policies and increase oversight on the government. He should also clearly state their willingness to do whatever possible to restore sanity, convince the government to act responsibly and respect the rights of our citizens.

Thirdly, he should fomulate a strategy to work with the government regardless of the outcome of the elections. This is very crucial, because at the end of the day Gambia remains our Gambia. Regardless of who is in power, parties should find a common ground to work together and promote mutual respect and understanding for both the ruling party and the opposition. After the elections both sides should reach out to each other and fight for the economic and political prosperity of all Gambians and the subregion. Democracy can only flourish in an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Though we are opponents, we are not enemies. A spirit of reconciliation should be promoted and hopefully government will heed to some of the pressure and act responsibly. This is the way forward after the elections and it is what defferentiate NADD from others vying for power.
Together we can all win...
Peace

NADD is the future and may ALLAH THE ALMIGHTY AND MOST GRACIOUS protect its leaders and a good son of the nation no other than your humble friend Honourable Halifa Sallah. We have seen Nelson Mandela lanquished in solitary confinement in Roben Island for over twenty years and protected by GOD before granting him power and title of THE PRESEDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA and we hope GOD will help see that in GAMBIA for HALIFA on his fateful day to be "IN SAALAH."
