Kons i truly like these definitions. I think someone suggested to you to start writing, i too feel that now. I think what we are getting from you is just the tip of the iceberg |

This definition of a democracy seems very true. While the poor majority elected the leader, they are treated as though they do not belong. The majority unfortunately is made to believe that the crumbs that fall to the ground are favours in the first place.
Thats what Halifa meant when he said that if any one of us is given a ride by a minister, we feel so "blessed". Little did we realise that the car the minister drives in is paid for by us. They can chose to practice favour whenever they so wish.
Some people have talked about ministers who give ride to students. I dont see any greatness in that. It is dscriminatiory in that not all studenst can get in and becasue there is no criteria as to who gets in or not, it had become a favour in the first place.
If that cabinet had done its duty, then there would not have been students on the roads looking for a ride in the first place.
IF YOU GIVE A MAN A FISH, HE HAS A FISH FOR A DAY. IF YOU TEACH HIM HOW TO FISH, HE HAS FISH FOR A LIFETIME(CHINESE SAYING). I would hasten to add, that if he has skills to fish, he might even give you fish on a rainy day. Not only will he be able to feed himself but can extend this to others. This is the multiplier effect.
Therfore giving a ride is not a credit. It is a confirmation of indifference to one's political constituency and aslo an entrenchment of patronage. |

that is my point KON. Dbaleh "We had nine months to get to the table and discuss our differences. They walked away from everything and now they want a blanket amnesty. They want unconditional unity. This is a bunch of bull" what nine months they had longer, they did not have to wait till jan 06 to get there act together they should have done it before then. They cannot now complain or moan |

| Kons , it is the same reason that the IMF, WORLD BANK continues to give money to countries with bad policies. They want to have their per diems and may be a cup of coffee in france on their way to senegal. If there is no poor countries they won't have their jobs. We have to start taking care of ourselves. The united states started giving foreign aid fifty years ago because of the fear that if they dont the soviet union will. |
