Mr Taylor's made the complaint during his first appearance before a special UN-backed war crimes tribunal.
and described The Hague jail regime as "far more draconian... than operates in Freetown",
Because he was locked in his cell for up to 16 hours a day and could not make as many phone calls as he was allowed in Sierra Leone.
Well i don't know what this Frog is thinking where he is now. In his supreme palace? true can hide only for a while not forever. U get it?
He also complained that he was forced to eat "Eurocentric" food.
Well doesnt he knew that in the Hague they simple don't serve a Blood like he use to? U a repugnant man!
Men belief me there is much more for you to come and soon or later your Brutal complice too! (the Corrupted Leaders with they venality)

Do on to others as you want others do on to you, isn't it? I think he should be strong enough not to complain about any thing similar to what he has inflicted upon human beings during his rule.

let justice take its course.

Nice to hear that he is not feeling to well there. I thought it was a five-stars-prison, a hotel for prominent guests...

A dictatorship is a sign of cowardice. It confirms that we are all human. We need to treat each other good. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Unfortunately man never learns from history.

The story of liberia is a skeleton for the abolition movement. The freed slaves that settled in Liberia also denied the indegeneous africans rights and liberties. They created an elite group, set up a two tier legislature: Congress and Senate based on the US system. They even had a presidential impeachment.

The story of Liberia is unfortunately tied to the story of indegeneous africans wanting liberty from their own people from the Americas. Liberia had for time immemorial been laregly controlled by freed slaves to the exclusion of the indegenes a sad part of the abolition movement which africans are shameful to talk about.Infcat the constitution of the Commonwealth of Liberia adopted January 5, 1839, divided the country into two main counties. Under the county of Montserado were districs of Monrovia( named after James Monroe us president), New Gergia, Caldwell and Millsburg whilst the under the second county of Grand Basso, were Bassa cove, Elina, Bexley and Marshall. All these names have nothing to do with Liberia. Ineffect, the settlement of freed slaves in Liberia began the beginning of the end of indegenous identity. It never re-inforced the ideals of the supporters of going back to the motherland and being africans once again.Infact the Executive Mansion which is the seat of Liberian head of state, was the same name for the American seat of president before it became the white house and transferred from Newyork to DC.

Hopefully there will be peace since the current president is an indegene Liberian and not from the elite former slave class. The Liberian constitution created at inception also excluded the indegeneous africans. The firestone tires you buy for your cars used to come from Liberias rubber plantations suplying the raw material for the factory in america. It was meant to help them start some economy going by the United States.

Someone asked yesterday why the oppessed alsoo tend to oppress. That is life for you. The cycle never ends.

you see the problem! i wouldn't be surprised if millions of ''dutch tax payer's'' money is used to improve his prison villa or a celebrity chef is brought in to cook for him. maybe they might put in broadband as well.

this is precisely why he should be tried in Africa close to the system and structures he left behind. there an opening for such non sense wouldnt have occurred in the first place.

all mang feng jai folo (kondorong you can translate that for them)

I agrree totally with you on this. He should be tried in Liberia where the atrocities were committed. This is the only way, it can be an example to everyone. I hate trials away from the crime scene. Why should he get first class food when other were denied the right to live on bread crumbs. HE THAT DENIETH SHALL NOT BE GIVEN

Isn't Jammeh also connected to Mr. T. with the diamond smuggling affair that I read about on the other Gambia online resources? Im sure everything will come out in the wash one of these days before I have my last breath.

It is true that he should been tried in Africa,
But if i get it right that Mr. blood-soaked has his long beak under a lot of Africans including some politically-leaders. right?
so standing with the same spikes when they have their long arms as a judge would not bring much more out.
so that means the innocent one will not get their reward of keeping this head of murderous frenzy man behind a bar for ever. infact he deserved of getting more than the credit which he left behind.

Taylor should be banged up for 23 hours per day and only be able to write letters once a month. The man's taking the Piss! Leave him where he is in the Hague no more taxpayers money from anywhere should be used to transport him around in fact all his accounts should be frozen indefinitely, and when he is sentenced sny monies returned to the treasury of Liberia.

Peace

Prisoners awaiting trial should be treated well. After all, they COULD turn out to be innocent.

Is prison just for punishment or for rehablitation?

If we treat prisoners badly what will we be returning to society when their crime is done? A worse, more damaged individual.

In Uk it is generally accepted that the TAKING AWAY OF LIBERTY is the punishment in itself. People in prison should be cared for to a certain level. They should have reasonable food, exercise and freedom from fear of bullying or bad treatment by staff or inmates.
They should have access to health care and should be allowed some education or work if it is available.

I return to the point that at some point most prisoners are going to return to society. We need to think about what we are creating inside the prison system.

If a prisoner is given a LIFE sentence, then I firmly believe that should MEAN LIFE. So serial murders and rapists should have no chance to be out to commit those crimes again.

I dont believe in the death penalty, no matter how bad the crime. This is making man into a GOD. It also makes the person who kills the criminal as bad as the criminal in my view.

I think people should be tried in the country they commited the crimes in. But some of these countries will need support in making sure a court hearing is fair and just. Also some countries around the world need to improve their prisons big time.

As I have mentiond before, I think how we treat the weakest members of our society is a good judgement on our society. This includes prisoners. We take away their freedom as punishment. But we should not take away their humanity.
