SECRETARY GENERAL SABALLY CAME BACK ON NATIONAL TV (GRTS) ON WESTERN POWERS "NEO-COLONIALISM" BARELY FEW DAYS PULLING GAMBIA OUT OF COMMONWEALTH (FOR UK) BUT THIS TIME ACCUSING US GOVERNMENT AS REPORTED UNDER;

1. United States’ hostile actions towards The Gambia exposed

The Government of The Gambia has exposed the United States of America’s hostile actions against The Gambia since 1994.

In a televised statement read on behalf of the Government, the secretary general, head of the Civil Service and the minister for Presidential Affairs, Momodou Sabally, reminded Gambians of the British and US Governments’ various attempts to have this current Government overthrown since 1994, when the Great July 22nd 1994 Revolution definitively and truly asserted Gambia’s independence from their colonialist and neo colonialist hegemony thereby ending all their hopes of “exploiting our natural resources to the detriment of The Gambia”.

Below we reproduce the full text of the statement.

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’S HOSTILE ACTIONS AGAINST THE GAMBIA SINCE 1994

Gambians and the whole world are hereby reminded of the British and US Governments’ various attempts to have this current Government overthrown since 1994 when the Great July 22nd 1994 revolution definitively and truly asserted Gambia’s independence from their colonialist and neo colonialist hegemony thereby ending all their hopes of exploiting our natural resources to the detriment of The Gambia.

The first was the US and UK sponsored coup attempt on November 11th 1995 led by the then Army Commander Lt. Barrow. All those coup plotters that escaped by going to the US and Senegalese Embassies including Bakary Bunja Darboe, a former Vice President under the PPP regime, and a dismissed Finance Minister under the AFPRC who escaped the jurisdiction by riding in the official flag car of the then Senegalese Ambassador to The Gambia, Mr. Moctar Kebbeh, were issued US and British Visas by their respective Embassies in Dakar and given Asylum in the US and B B Darboe in the UK.

Since that coup plot failed; up till today, these two Western powers have continued in their relentless efforts to destabilise this country desperately using every means possible from sponsoring coup plots to financing the opposition and mounting a vigorous smear campaign consisting of outrageous lies and false allegations against The Gambia.

Despite this Government’s goodwill towards all countries including the US and the UK; which, of course, does not include surrendering our Sovereignty, natural mineral and petroleum resources to old vampires and present-day locusts, these two Western Powers and their surrogate allies continue to vilify this Government and noble country.....

Gambia speaking truth angers US, UK: Jones

In an interview with Press TV, Bill Jones, with the Executive Intelligence Review in Leesburg, shares his views about Gambian government accusing the United States and Britain of sponsoring coup plots against President Yahya Jammeh.

Below is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Gambia does seem like it is a thorn in the side of not only the British government but the American government too, doesn’t it?

Jones: Well, when you speak truth to power, you can make a lot of enemies. I think that is what Gambia did by stepping out of a commonwealth in particular.

Press TV: And so going forward Mr. Jones, should we expect the British and US governments to be trying to destabilize the country and try to overthrow the government, etc?

Jones: I think there are probably plans in the works. I mean, these things do not go without consequence and given the fact that there is a lot of discontent within the commonwealth which is an institution that has long ceased to be anything but a controlled mechanism by the old British empire which no longer is an empire but remains as a financial power and that could set off a domino effect with other countries.

So they obviously feel that they are going to have to take some kind of measures against Gambia and as usual, they are always trying to get the Yanks involved, the big force or the Special Forces so that they can do that through their surrogates but I think there is going to be things happening and I think that the president would be well to be very cautious and keep an eye on what is happening because he is in the spotlight right now and he could be in trouble from these forces.

1. Gambian Diaspora Denies Involvement in Coup Plot

A Gambian Diaspora group says it is not involved in any plan to overthrow the government of President Yahya Jammeh. But the group said it wants to see change come to the Gambia.

This comes as the Gambian government this week accused the United States and Great Britain of sponsoring a series of plots to overthrow President Jammeh.

A State Department spokeswoman Thursday denied any US involvement or knowledge of any plot to remove Jammeh.

On Wednesday a group calling itself the Democratic Union of Gambian Activists (DUGA) briefly took over the Gambian embassy in Washington, DC and three of its senior leaders were arrested and jailed by the Washington, DC Metropolitan police.

A judge released them Thursday on their own reconnaissance and told them to return to court on October 23....
