I expect that Mr. Fox may well be out of pocket even after having D99,000 returned to him from the convict,various necessary expenses incurred in pursuing this case,valuable property lost,livelihood lost,and losses incurred by the hotel in having to renovate the shop that they rented after it was damaged by fire. Fire in the Gambia is a not an unusual occurrence,especially within the home environment and of course at the last big fire at Elton Filling Station recently. We will never know of course if Mr Fox had insurance cover that he was able to make a claim on and recover his losses by payment from the insurance company,interesting if the administration should decide that the Gambian insurance business should be looked at closely in order to establish if their services provided meet the expectations of the customer,especially where insurance is mandatory,such as motor vehicle insurance.
