You are really funny Snuggles.

Being a member of Bantaba for many years now, you should have realised that no one is compelled to post or make a comment just for the sake of saying something.

No doubt there are those that do post just for the sake of saying something but hey what the heck it’s an open forum and makes bantaba more colourful

For me I don’t post just to say something I try and follow it up with and do something. How many can say that
If you remember I solicited the thoughts of Bantaba members on what they thought would make Gambia a more interesting place to visit. I followed it up with a posting saying all their views and been put in a letter to the Minister for Tourism Which I personally delivered in Banjul.
Also sent to the GTA my recommendations for a cultural centre as per my thread what to Do

This time while Im here I will be doing the same with a personal letter to Jammeh regarding the corruption and extortion of money from tourists see below

Dear Sir
At a meeting you held last year you outlined your concern about corruption and also the extortion of money from tourists by your officers and security personnel at the airport. You rightly went on to say it was harming the country from tourists coming to or coming back The Gambia
From recent reports has it stopped the answer is apparently not?
So what to do regarding the tourists

I would respectfully suggest that your government engage the services of a private solicitors firm to investigate and bring those responsible to justice
The solicitor’s fees to be paid for out of government funds. Word would soon get around and the practice would stop. Any costs to the government would soon diminish
Their by restoring the good name of The Gambia the Smiling coast as a tourist destination

I would suggest that on arrival at the airport the tourists are handed a fly sheet that would fit in to their passport detailing the firm of solicitors and telephone number also Time and place offence took place Name or number of the perpetrator also the tourists name and contact information.

Yours Sincerely

For the Personal attention off
His Excellency Sheikh Professor Dr. Alhaji Yahya Abdul-Aziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh
