That is why the election is brought forward so that after the AU, there is very little time for campaigns. TO SAY THAT BECAUSE OF RAMADAN THAT IT WAS BROUGHT NEARER IS JUST AN EXCUSE. THE BATTLE OF BADR WAS FOUGHT DURING RAMADAN. CERTAINLY VOTING DURING RAMADAN IS NOT A PROBLEM FOR A TRUE MUSLIM. Does this have to mean that no political campaigns during Easter? We are not a theocracy i hope?

LemonTime :
you are an amazingly funny guy. I tried to probe you because you seemed to have had a fraudian slip that appeared to suggest a prejudize for mandinkas. My question was to make sure i didn't get you wrong.
Remember judging people based on tribe is completely wrong.

Considering the bellowing, high demand for insults and low life personal attacks that comes with Gambian election, I think having election outside ramadan is perhaps sensible. Anyway on a wide religious note ... is it ok to do everything outside ramadan!

Hey hey,
Now lets go back to the topics!

Has anybody been following the statistics of how many have switched allegiance from the opposition to APRC since 2001 elections?

I belief if going by the reports, twice the population including even those unborn have now become APRC.Please don't laugh this is serious.I think for journalist to just write without keeping figures of what they write thus fooling themselves in the eye of good mathematicians is professional misconduct! How can about 206 thousand voter cross carpetted to APRC alone from opposition

I have asked my friend in banjul to keep records of every crosscarpetting either from APRC to opposition or from Opposition to APRC recorded by the daily observer/independant/point or other medias. You would be surprised to find out thatsome news papers/medias do not keep records or even if they do, they think people would not mind about keeping track of them.

From 2001 to 2006 may, these are roughly about fugures of the DIVISIONAL statistics of number of people switching allegiance from opposition to APRC alone not to mention those switching from APRC to Oppositions.

(1)URD,from Koina/Makamasireh to Serebojo{Jimara) over 33,000 opposition supporters have switched to APRC.
Q.How many voters live in the URD?Take those who voted for APRC last election out any see whether any opposition would be left.
(2)CRD,from Serebojo to Choya through to Saloum, over 38,000 oppositoions,
Q.what is wrong with some news papers and media?
(3)LRD from Pakaliba to Burmangbridge, over 11,000 opposition supporters[ though these fugures reduced greatly after the mighty Baba K Jobbe fell from grace and was imprisoned?
Q.Do we have all thise voters in LRD anyway?
(4)NBD
from saloum/through from yelitenda/bambatenda to Barra crossing, over 31,000 voter have moved from opposition to APRC.
Q.Though Badibu was known for it opposition to the then PPP,but are Badibu mothers having four babies at a time like in china?(laughs)
what about + the oreginal APRC supporters?

(5)WD from Kalagi through to Kartong then round to sanchaba sulayjobe near Bakoteh,[green]52,000 oppositions a half from kombo North alone.

Q.Findout do WD have more voters in Western Division than KMC AND BANJUL together?
(6)KMC from Bakoteh to yundum, nearly 41'000 though the figure went up during the AU summit.
(7)Banjul,12,000.[/

Q.[blue] what is wrong with our journalist?we ahave more than 206,000 voters switching to APRC from Opposition!
What about adding those small figures switching from APRC to opposition plus their die hard supporters?

Q.Are we now heading for a ONE and a half million voters?
Oh God what a fast growing people, are in this tiny African country?
Q. Are we different from other countries or do dead people vote in the Gambia?

peace

Janyanfara,

I like that kind of research of you. I follow the Bantaba and Gambian News for a while and asked by myself the same questions. This is definately pure propaganda.

But maybe you can give the answer to this question. How it is possible that one says that x-number of people will vote for a certain party ? Are those people forced by the alkalo or someone else who decides as head of the village to what party the votes will go ?

I don't understand that as everyone can decide for him/herself in the polling station (at least I hope so).

Thanks LEMON TIME/jede,
I am no journalist but I think Journalism means reporting accurate and correct sourced information and not just to grip at any piece of information you lay your hands on?I don't know I only ask whether thats the case with journalism? If so, then some journalists in the gambia are oral journalists.
