The president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh has additional namesake from various parts of the country.

Informing the president of the development in letters addressed to him, the families also expressed gratitude to President Jammeh for accepting the gesture.

The letters read:
It gives us (Jadama Kund family of Jabang village) pleasure to informed you that our father has named our newly borned brother after your father’s name (Abdulaziz J. Junkung Jammeh).

The naming ceremony took place in Jabang village on Thursday 1st September 2011.

Sir, after reading the letter I was so much happy that you have received my letter and that you appreciated the naming of my child after you. I also pray for your good health progress and wish you a resounding victory in the forth coming election.

Sir, I regret to inform you that part of the villages only mosque has fallen. And I will like you to know that am a farmer. I have enclosed the pictures of my wife and myself as requested in your letter.

In another development, one Fatou MB Fatty also acknowledge President Jammeh’s message in which he [President Jammeh] accepted her in naming her child after Sulayman Junkung Jammeh, the late father of President Jammeh.

The letter reads;
I refer to you letter OP 282/01/TEMP):/ 276-RCC) dated 26th August 2011 for accepting me in naming my child after your father Sulayman Junkung Jammeh. I was asked to send a full picture of I the mother Fatou M.B Fatty.

It is with honour and joy for Your Excellency in accepting the namesake of your father. I enclosed a picture of me the mother of Sulayman Junkung Jammeh. I am praying for your long life, happiness and blessing in all your activities.
