During a discussion with Barry Wells US Ambassador in Gambia, the issue of drugs inavariably errupted up. In his own words, Jammeh told Ambassador Wells about an offere by a certain person to him Jammeh regarding drugs. The offer was for Jammeh to open the gates of Gambia's Yundum Airport for planes loaded with drugs to be landing. The deal was that Jammeh would get Three Million US Dollars every month. Though Jammeh did not mention the name of the person that offered him such a deal, he instead lamented he was so annoyed that he could not ask the person some pertinent questions.

That is seriously strange.

"The President went on to say he had 'zero tolerance' for drugs. He said he made a 'big mistake' once when he was approached by 'someone' and offered 3 million US dollars a month if he would allow planes carrying drugs to land in The Gambia and be escorted to waiting vessels at the Port for trans-shipment to the U.S. and Europe. The President indicated he was so angry with the individual who approached him with this offer that he failed to ask the individual for information on which aircraft and vessels he was alluding to. The President said that the drug phenomenon will be very difficult to eradicate in West Africa as long as certain heads of state are in power, as some of them and their families are involved in drug trafficking. He said the late President Conte of Guinea Conakry confided in him that his (Conte's) son was involved in trafficking and lamented that the Guinean police would not arrest his son because of his position. Jammeh added his belief that the attempted coup in Guinea- Bissau was actually a drug deal gone bad
when 5 tons of cocaine turned up missing
while it was in police custody."

Karamba get your facts straight, and start worrying about how you are going to lament over 24th November when you have to think of away of boring us to distraction for the next five years. When your campaigning strategy backfires.

quote:
Jammeh on Regional Drug Trafficking
-----------------------------------

¶8. (C) Ambassador raised the issue of the
increased drug trafficking in the region.
Jammeh responded with an anecdote about
having been approached by a person who said
he did not want the President to "miss out"
on an opportunity his counterparts in the
region were taking advantage of. The
request was a bald-faced attempt to get him
involved in drug trafficking, by
guaranteeing that traffickers would not be
prosecuted or convicted in The Gambia. The
President went on to say he had 'zero
tolerance' for drugs. He said he made a
'big mistake' once when he was approached
by 'someone' and offered 3 million US
dollars a month if he would allow planes
carrying drugs to land in The Gambia and be
escorted to waiting vessels at the Port for
trans-shipment to the U.S. and Europe. The
President indicated he was so angry with
the individual who approached him with this
offer that he failed to ask the individual
for information on which aircraft and
vessels he was alluding to. The President
said that the drug phenomenon will be very
difficult to eradicate in West Africa as
long as certain heads of state are in
power, as some of them and their families
are involved in drug trafficking. He said
the late President Conte of Guinea Conakry
confided in him that his (Conte's) son was
involved in trafficking and lamented that
the Guinean police would not arrest his son
because of his position. Jammeh added his
belief that the attempted coup in Guinea-
Bissau was actually a drug deal gone bad
when 5 tons of cocaine turned up missing
while it was in police custody.

¶9. (C) Jammeh said he had directed his NIA
and other law enforcement authorities to
continue to cooperate with the U.S. on the
drug problem. He said the drug unit
particularly needed assistance with
forensics as they have no capability in
this area.

Sister Omega, these are not MY FACTS. Unless you don't trust Wikileaks, these are from Jammeh. He was offered 3 million American Dollars according Jammeh. Will you confirm with him if this is just another enemy propaganda or he said so.

Where many of us found the drama is when the magic hand that offered Jammeh suddenly disappeared, leaving Jammeh so angry. It would have been a proper hex.

Not likely that Sister Omega takes Wikileaks for real. They too are potential enemies of the revolution.

In the text though, it came by claim that Jammeh is pro western by heart. Well, with the multi million properties and two US born children in stock, what else has anyone to doubt where Jammeh's heart is buried.

Forgot to mention that young Gambians are punished for failing to reach Europe by sea.

Karamba are you for real so are you advocating for Young Gambians to risk lives to die in the Atlantic or reach the Canaries only to be detained and deported. Then you really expect people to believe that you have the youths best interests at heart. To try and score cheap points in your warp sense of political commentary.

Not at all advocating for young Gambians to risk the wild voyage Sister Omega. Point to note is that while lambasting US and the West by word of mouth, big man still wants to have stock of American homes and children. Not stopping there, the chat picked up that at heart Chairman Jammeh so loves the West going by his chat waves.

Does anyone know the links between this offer and huge discovery of drugs in Gambia in multi million street value catch ?

Jammeh was offered this juicy deal. We heard nothing. Later drugs were discovered in Gambia. Child joke.

Brother Janyanfara, my curiosity has been stimulated by what Jammeh claimed to have transpired between him and the ghost drug dealer. This person could not be ordinary and surely he did not target an ordinary public position holder.

When tides, change, squeezing the truth from Jammeh will be the most proper course of action. Jammeh is sitti8ng on vital information that needs drilling.

Sister Omaga,
Yes I am stupid infact very stupid but far far better than you and I will tell you if you ask me why. Ask me why and I will tell you.x

Jammeh can be president yes because he is a chief, a cheat, a prostitute womaniser and to crown it all a tyrant butcher who has little regard for human life.He will not mind to kill tens of thousands to retain power just like Ali Abdoulie Salleh of Yemen, Gaddafi his mentor of Libya, Mubarrack of Egypt , Ben Ali of Tunisia, Yewri Mussaveni of Uganda, Omar Bashir of Sudan ect They are all sons of SATAN.

BUT REMEMBER, GOD has not abandoned the Gambian people and deliverance would surely come!

If you so much love him, he still has one having distroyed another Gambian young girl already He loves foreign women and another white woman what we call HEEESS WEIECK. Jammeh loves that and no matter your age, he might be intrested

Just ask.

I enjoy reading your blog.

Good night!

Yes indeed Sister I am colour blind but You still have not questioned why I asked you to contact Jammeh incase you happen to build interest in him as you have rescently shown even when he kills our young children by crushing them while they scrambled over his buscuits.
He is also a mustleman and soldier and always interested in coloured girls Ladies and even older women. I knew the man anad he knows it thats why he has never challenged me on my words but you would because you don't know how we knew each other.I mean Yahya and I.x

Janyanfara I totally agree with you that Jammeh shouldn't throw biscuits at children in the street from his convoy because of the danger involved in regards to Health & Safety. Special attention needs to be adhered to prevent such tragic accidents happening again.

Also I would go as far as saying that better security should be put in place with security guards on route of the Presidents Convoys. Children are far too unpredictable to use proper judgement in regards to road safety when overcomed by excitement. Therefore throwing biscuits into the crowd needs to be refrained from in the future to prevent anymore needless deaths like these reoccurring.
I am sure the Presidents Advisor's could easily brainstorm ways that the President could distribute biscuits to the children in a much safer and healthier way.

Janyanfara, So you know Jammeh and have a personal axe to grind with him. Now then that's not very surprising to me because that seems to meet the profile of many opportunist oppositionalists. Janyankara there's no need for sexist banta now is there? Stick to the debate.

Peace
