To carry on being around after death, here is how Simon Cowell thinks that works. having his corpse kept frozen. In the past some people have kept dead bodies on freezer for long periods. But this time, it is a case of of personal choice.

Whatever turns you on I suppose,it's a matter of personal choice ,but I think that believers in some of the worlds religions have had that personal choice taken away from them, therefore they have no choice.I don't know enough about world religions to take part in a discussion here with those who have researched the subject of allowed personal choice in religion.I just make an observation,I would be interested in what others here have to write,or just their personal general views.

Toubab1020, the preservation of dead bodies is long been in pratice. I am not sure if it is part of any religion or some symbol of social status. For some societies, a simple burial is all that it takes to part with deceased members. With others, additional values are attached. Tell some people in parts of the world that a person pays insurance to cater for funeral expenses and get them gazing at you. May be this choice by Simon will come to stay as flavour of celebrity in coming generations. Everything in the fashion world starts somewhere in some ways. It appears Simon is not alone in making personal choices like this.

I have no doubt this makes exciting news in some parts of the world.

you may well be right,

I was quite interested in other aspects, for instance, the Parsis in India mainly around Bombay (or Mumbai ):

As I have no strong affiliation to any religious group, I am seriously thinking of donating my body to medical science.
I may not be able to help people in this life, but hopefully by doing this it may help someone in the future live theirs.

Plus it will save a fortune on funeral expenses.

What a excellent idea,"but hopefully by doing this it may help someone in the future live theirs."

"Plus it will save a fortune on funeral expenses." but surely there must be some, after your "donation" has been finished with, "disposal" must be registered and logged with its location, you cannot simply fall off the records.
