Its a sad fact but the largest amount of scams come out of West Africa Ghana and Nigeria being the biggest offenders

Every country in the world has a small minority of people who are dishonest. The internet offers new opportunities for criminals and dishonest individuals to extort money from unsuspecting individuals. In order to avoid any problems it is better to be overly cautious.

Here are some tips and suggestions:
• NEVER send cash to someone you have only met online, but have not yet met in person.
• Common examples of scams include requests for money to pay for large items such as plane tickets, legal fees, visa fees, medical expenses, marriage annulment fees etc.
• If you ever consider assisting someone in another country who you met online to visit you then first check their visa eligibility with your Immigration department.
• NEVER send cash for someone from another country to purchase a plane ticket, pay for visa or legal costs or anything else associated with a visit to you. If you feel you must assist this person then always buy the ticket yourself directly, on the behalf of the visitor and check that the ticket can be refunded in case you need to cancel it.
• Similarly, if you must pay for visa fees, annulment fees or other large expenses always pay the expense directly after you have verified the invoice and organization issuing the invoice is genuine.
• Some people in developing countries may ask for small amounts of money to pay for internet access or phone costs for communicating with you. We recommend never sending money to anyone you have not yet met in person.
• Be suspicious of people who appear to be overly persistent or aggressive in their requests for money.
• Be particularly suspicious of people who request more money as soon as you send something.

Excellent advice snuggles. there are MANY "dishonest individuals to extort money from unsuspecting individuals." I had one the other day from an Omar something or other saying he had Esophageal cancer and wanted to come to the UK for treatment, absolute scam, but some people might be so compassionate that common sense flys out the window.

How about those abuser and scammer Europeans i.e. Britain, Netherlands using their power, money, status offending younger girls, boys.... Any suggestions for them? I mean it takes two to dance, Africans are not the only guilty here, what about those who take advantage of Africans girls and boys!! Any suggestion for them as well? I mean 60 years old european come and take advantage of younger Africans. Isn't it scam as well?

I found this scam business from Africa is little bid overrated. Those who are victim from Europe or North America knows what is going on, and they are in scamming business.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.
