Turk This topic is dedicated to you! Our Arab world expert and well articulate in POLITICS; amongst others

I HAVE TO DECLARE THAT NOT CRITICISING MY RELIGION (ISLAM) OR WAY OF LIFE BUT EXPRESSING CONCERN ON THESE ISSUES; WHETHER IT CAN BE FIXED OR IS SUSTAINABLE FOR 21ST CENTURY AND BEYOND

This is extracted from The New York Times Opinion Pages;

"As Allison Janney’s C.J. Cregg once fumed on “The West Wing” about Saudi Arabia: “This is a country where women aren’t allowed to drive a car.

They’re not allowed to be in the company of any man other than a close relative. They’re required to adhere to a dress code that would make a Maryknoll nun look like Malibu Barbie.

They beheaded 121 people last year for robbery, rape and drug trafficking.

They have no free press, no elected government, no political parties.

And the royal family allows the religious police to travel in groups of six carrying nightsticks, and they freely and publicly beat women. But ‘Brutus is an honorable man.’

Seventeen schoolgirls were forced to burn alive because they weren’t wearing the proper clothing. ... Saudi Arabia, our partners in peace.”"

MY MAIN CONCERNS ARE;

1. "Beheading" and "burning alive"?

2. "They have no free press, no elected government, no political parties."?

3. "Women and Human Rights"?

4. Immigration and how free are "muslims" in OUR HOLY LAND?

Kobo. You are lacking the understanding of my perspective about things. Saudi Arabian state I dislike most along with Israel, Libya, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait. How come all the countries I dislike most are in the same region? I have traveled many places in the world. I never had any desire going places in the region these countries around. I have more than 6000 songs in my hard drive, there are only very a few coming from the region around these states. If you can figure out anything from this, I will buy you a beer. If you don't drink alcohol, I will drink it for you.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

BBC NEWS WITH VIEW FROM A PRINCESS;

quote:
"Our religion should not be a shield behind which we hide from the world but a driving force that inspires us to innovate and contribute to our surroundings"

"The ministry of social affairs not only abuses women's rights but is also one of the reasons poverty is rife in the kingdom. A corrupt system that lacks transparency has meant that more than 50% of our population is poor and needy even though we are one of the wealthiest countries on earth."

"This state of affairs is in complete contradiction to the Koran, upon which our laws are supposed to be based."

FOROYAA INTERNATIONAL NEWS;

Foroyaa
quote:
"Incidentally many countries in Africa and around the world look up to Saudi Arabia as a model in terms of law, politics, religion and governance. Many Islamic theocracies and republics around the world copy and imitate the legal precedents in Saudi Arabia in terms of interpreting the sharia law. What happens in Saudi Arabia has enormous impact on what goes on in many communities and countries in the world."

There is a saying, "East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet."

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.
