Jammeh's Golf Competition Creates Disharmony Among Gambians
http://www.gainako.com/news/news/2011/04/04/former-gambian-first-lady-njaimeh-jawara-testifies-against-gambian-journalist-bakary-baldeh--co-defendance.html
The disharmony apart, one wonders where Jammeh got the $40,000.00 (D1,200000.00 –assuming that $1.00 =D30.00) from. What makes this a legitimate question is the fact of this huge amount for a competition just for a baby, a minor for that matter, who as we may all know if not for being the daughter of a sitting tyrannical leader hasn't contributed anything to earn such an honor. I am just saying that Jammeh needs to be reminded that lavishing taxpayer's money in that way is a crime in the highest order. This money can be used to support the empty hospitals with drugs, or yet still the poor road conditions in some areas. People pay taxes so they can be supported with infrastructural developments.
Honestly, I see no problem with promoting sports, be it golf, soccer, basket, wrestling, etc.... It was similar to the dollar awards to the Quranic recitation. Instead of “Dashing” (Aku word for giving) money like that, he should funnel this through the schools to support their structures and students in need.

Dalton1, before you advance far enough on the way to defending Gambian tax payer money , stop a bit. Yahya Jammeh is playing with funds from money laundering, drug business, blood diamond, and every sort of dirty deals.
This man is very unclean. Also he has no bit of shame when you consider his background. There was no business of any scale in generations since Kanilai became a bone healing village in the depths of Foni Cassamance forest cover.
The money Jammeh is playing with in a year is more than ten years Gambian tax payer funds. It is important that we as people face the truth about this dirty money business. |

BRO Karamba:
There is a lot of evidence to conclude that Jammeh had a hand in the drug cartel that was unearthed in the Gambia months ago. This is attetsed by the fact that Jammeh's closest aides (Bun Sanneh, Essa Badjie, etc...) are still on such charges. Apart from the foreign detainees being currently tortured to death, hardly anything else is progressive on a billion-dollar cocaine cartel.
Your analysis are accurate, and thanks for bringing me back.

With what is happening the damage is too much. Yaya Jammeh is shamelessly abusing the position of president to do every dirty thing. Not only dirty but bad enough for everyone. By the time the filth is cleared what remains will be high cost. That is all the reason why all of us have it as responsibility to challenge and work on getting this bad element out of our way. This is the minute. All those who try to back the evil have no good reason but equally guilty of wrong. We can't sit to watch evil eat us up. No doubt this evil affair will have to end. It is the extent of damage that is already far reaching.
If there are twisted minds like Turk reading, you are free to call names and make wild assumptions about people's motives for wanting to the end of this eveil. That is up to you. All that we know is the reality of a man playing wicked on people who don't deserve it. His only backing is gun power and he is using it in cruel ways. |
