WELCOMING NEW STAKEHOLDERS, ACTIVISTS AND MILITANTS TO SENSITISE, CAMPAIGN, MOBILISE RESOURCES AND ADDRESSING GAMBIAN POLITICAL ISSUES LAUNCHED AS; "COALITION FOR CHANGE"

1. CULLED FROM GAINAKO ON-LINE NEWS Gambia Pro-Democracy Group Launched Coalition for Change - The Gambia UNDER http://www.gainako.com/news/news/2011/04/03/gambia-pro-democracy-group-launched-coalition-for-change---the-gambia-.html

"PRESS RELEASE

The Coalition for Change -The Gambia (CCG), a civil, human and political rights organization, which brings together a cross-section of the Gambian community at home and abroad, has been launched. The group is a non-partisan organization established to challenge the dictatorship and restore basic freedoms in The Gambia through nonviolent action. The Coalition's formation is necessitated by the repressive political environment in which Gambians find themselves. Virtually all avenues of orderly political change have been shut by a despot determined to cling on to power by any means necessary.

Under normal circumstances, the CCG would have been registered with authority to engage in peaceful protests, submit grievances to the authorities, and hope that they would act to redress them. But The Gambia's story the past sixteen years has been all but conducive to the free expression of ideas. The political atmosphere in the country is extremely toxic for media practitioners, and journalists who dare criticize President Yahya Jammeh face risks ranging from arrest and prolonged detention to death. To add insult to injury, political parties are routinely denied permission to hold public meetings and leaders who dare defy Yahya Jammeh's orders face arrest and jail.

Despite the repression, corruption and economic hardship Gambians are faced with, no one dares organize peaceful political protests against the regime. The last time peaceful protests were organized in April 2000, at least 14 innocent young students were gunned down by security agents. Additionally, opposition leaders have been rounded up only to be released after languishing in detention for exercising their democratic rights. No institution or interest group is safe from the regime's overreach. As a result, Gambians have by and large succumbed to fear as a result of the regime's ruthlessness.

CCG is calling on all groups and individuals from every sector of the community, in The Gambia and abroad, to join us in the struggle to dislodge the dictator from the helm in order to restore democracy and the rule of law. It is a challenge we must overcome. Members of the security services are particularly encouraged to join the struggle to save the dignity and honour of their profession.

And with the regime's total control of the media, CCG will employ a combination of social media and setting up of an FM station, Radio Free Gambia. These mediums will be used to spread CCG's messages before embarking on peaceful marches designed to end Jammeh's reign of terror. Information about specific venues and actions to be taken will be provided as the situation warrants.

CCG members are bound together by a common objective of ending The Gambia's dictatorship and as well as the climate of fear that has so consumed Gambian society.
The CCG calls on the regime to immediately:

· Repeal laws that unduly restrict freedom of expression
· Ensure equal access to public media for all political establishments
· Organize a referendum to institute Presidential term limits
· Free all political prisoners
· End the arbitrary arrests, detentions, torture and murders
· Investigate all mysterious deaths and disappearances
· Respect freedom of assembly

We pray for success and look forward with hope for the support and participation of all Gambians in this noble and daunting task.

MAAFANTA.COM WITH THIS FLASH NEWS;

"Dr. Amadou Scattred Janneh Arrested!!.At this moment we are not privvy as to why, but Probably due to his "affiliation" with the organization, CCG( Coalition For Change Gambia). He had a brief stunt as Minister of information for Yaya Jammeh's APRC government. Amadou is a business man and now lives quietly with his family in The Gambia. He is a US Citizen"

ALSO GAINAKO NEWS WITH THIS;

"Our sources indicated that Dr. Janneh has recently been rumored to be a key player in the recently formed Coalition for Change Gambia which is said to be operating in Dakar. As we go to press efforts are being made to confirm Dr. Janneh's arrest and the reasons behind it."

BUT JOLLOF ON-LINE NEWS REPORTS THAT "THERE IS NO REASON FOR HIS ARREST SO FAR?" WITHOUT MENTIONING ANY PROBABILITY; AS EXPOSED ABOVE FROM MAAFANTA'S "PROBABLY DUE TO HIS "AFFILIATION" WITH CCG" AND GAINAKO'S VERSION ABOVE; WHICH MAY IMPLICATE HIM

MORE FROM JOLLOF ON-LINE NEWS Breaking News: Former Information Minister Scattred Janneh Arrested

SENEGAMBIA ON-LINE NEWS BROUGHT THESE ADDITIONAL ALLEGATIONS;

"As of now, it is not clear why Yahya Jammeh ordered the arrest of Dr. Janneh, but it can be recalled that Yahya Jammeh is entangled in a land grabbing and seizure case in Dr. Janneh's hometown Gunjur, an ancient town located about thirty kilometers south of the capital Banjul.

In a related case, the Chief of Kombo South, Ajay Janneh and a Nigerian proprietor of Gunjur motel and his European wife were arrested in relation to Yahya Jammeh's land grabbing issue. The arrest of Dr. Janneh, a U.S citizen, is creating unease among Gambians at home and abroad. All efforts are being made to ascertain the reasons for Professor Janneh's arrest."

He stopped being a U.S citizen when he swore to work for a foreign government. C'mon now rules apply in everything you choose to do. You cannot be a U.S citizen working for a foreign government as a government employee. A Gambian/ex naturalized American Citizen, Gambian now more or less fits it . They will all go to jail messing with these clandestine subversive organizations sprawling like weeds nowadays. It seems all the terrorist wanna go legit.............................Peace

1.FREEDOM ON-LINE NEWS Breaking News: Gambia: Gambia Detains Former Information Minister Janneh Over Alleged Subversive Activities!

FROM ABOVE;

"A top Gambian security chief told the Freedom Newspaper that he was briefed about Janneh’s arrest, but asked to be given time to gather more details about the story. The Security Chief said Mr. Janneh has been on the agency’s radar for the longest time.

“ I was not surprised when I heard about his arrest. The NIA has long been trailing him. It was a question of when he would be picked up, but we knew that the regime had assigned a special unit within the NIA to monitor his activities in the country,” said our source.

According to the Security Chief, Dr. Janneh, had been shuttling between Banjul, and Dakar in the recent time. “ It was gathered that he was on the verge of setting up a radio station in Dakar together with other Gambian partners. This information came to the attention of Gambia’s intelligence community,” said our source."

Coalition for Change The Gambia Labels Dr. Janneh Hero

Free Dr.Amadou S Janneh

I THINK WITH ALL THESE REVELATIONS AND OUT CRIES; THOSE ASSOCIATING DR.JANNEH WITH COALITION FOR CHANGE THE GAMBIA (FROM DAY ONE) ARE FEEDING HIM TO THE WOLVES AND STRENGTHENING ANY ALLEGATIONS FOR SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES; WHICH IS NOT NICE FOR THIS GENTLEMAN IN CUSTODY FOR POLITICAL REASONS TO TRUMP UP CHARGES AGAINST HIM

IN MY OPINION DIASPORA ACROSS THE BOARD ON LEAKAGES; REPORTERS FROM ON-LINE MEDIA EXPOSING HIS ASSOCIATION WITH COALITION FOR CHANGE THE GAMBIA, SHOULD TAKE FULL- RESPONSIBILITY FOR VICTIMISATION OF DR. A.S. JANNEH

SOME OF THE REPORTS ON-LINE ARE NOT HELPFUL TO HIM

INTERESTING READ;

1. Show Support for The Freedom of Dr. Amadou Scattred Janneh and Others By Acting Now!!!

"After his stint as a minister, Dr.Janneh set up a successful information technology company called Commit and continues his benevolent support for the community, especially folks in Gunjur, his home village. (With the weak and fragmented opposition, it is tempting to want to see Dr. Janneh as the front runner candidate against this despotic regime for the next election.)

The rumoured accusations level against Dr. Janneh by the government, which are his involvement in an organisation called Coalition for Change (the term Change is coined by Obama during his 2008 campaign I guess Obama would have been arrested had he lived in Gambia) and his plans to set up a radio station in neighboring Senegal, do not tantamount to subversive and/or treasonable offences. I would not be surprised to see trumped up charges that even with a stretch of one's imagination, one would not fathom."
