Then once you've done the maths then you'll know whether it was money well spent. No doubt these people and or their families are Gambian Tax Payers and know that the money spent was valuable per money and was much less than what they had to pay Human Traffickers to take them to Libya in the first place.

I have just said we don't need to charter a plane. We already got two sitting on the tarmac at the Banjul International Airport. Money should be spent on other logistics and personnel but not chartering an aircraft.

Sister O, do you ever listen?

Toubab really your all knowing condescendent about Gambia makes me laugh. For a person who knows so much about Gambia how come you only know seem to know the workless in society? It's also good to know successful people who have worked hard to get where they are today. You didn't actually think that all of the nice houses that you fly over in Gambia are all owned by foreigners did you. Honestly Toubab get a grip.

Every society on the planet has a social spectrum. Within KMC there are a lot of Gambians who can't even tell you the last time they went to the beach because they go to work everyday, and definitely don't go to the beach to be amongst husslers and tourists. Neither do they see the beach as an enticing place be Therefore the beach and its hotels aren't really their scene.

Now Now Nyari mind your blood pressure. Yes Sister Omega made a mistake. On didn't you know I was a human being. So how much do you think it cost for the Gambians to land in libya then Mastermind? Nyari the saying is Mumbo Jumbo derrives from Mandinka as a celebration of Mandinka Culture. Whilst I was Upcountry I met a teacher there who was writing a thesis on Mumbo Jumbo to readdress the negation of Mandinka Culture. Therefore by using it in derogitory sense only negates yourself Bro. Nyari your just hating with your laclustor propoganda. Tax payers Alliance don't bother give me a laugh! When was the last time did you pay tax in Gambia?

I understand mumbo jumbo to be an English saying and I honestly don't know how it can possibly negate my honourable self. Ok, I spelled it wrong and yet the message is understood. So what!

As for the cost of the repatriation, I can only know that if the government comes clean on the figures, the logistics involved and the number of people evacuated. By the way, they shouldn't have hired an aeroplane for this mission because we already have two sitting on the tarmacs at the Banjul International Airport. Therefore, they have wasted money already.

Sister O, the Kitchen is getting hot and no wonder you are going Ga-ga. Soon you will be called Lady Gaga, the eccentric Gambian wiffy.

Nyari the kitchen aint hot Bro. I congratulate the Gambia Authorities for rescuing Gambian Citizens and others stranded in Libya. Now we know that if it were in your power to do the same then you would of left them there. So it's a good thing you have no power in this situation Nob.

That is the typical Gambian story, Toubab.- Just like you said it.

Sister O, if i was in power, I wouldn't have purchased two aircrafts just to facilate the shopping expeditions of my wife. I would have use commercial airlines to run my errands and travels so as not to waste taxpayers money.

If my administration inherited two aircrafts from the previous and a disaster of the Libyan style happened with Gambians stranded, I would have used those aircrafts to evacuate returnees rather than hiring from western companies at throat cut price. I will then use the savings to improve the provision of social services like health, education etc and cutting down on the deficit. This is what I called the judicious appropiation of taxpayers money.

Toubab, HOW COMES AM NOT GETTING ANY SUPPORT FROM YOU? WHAT HAPPEN TO YOUR GREAT EMPATHY FOR THE GAMBIAN PLIGHT?

Thanks

Nyari don't get it twisted I work with workless people everyday of the week in the UK to help them find sustainable employment. I remember 19 years ago when I first visited Gambia I was undertaking some research at the time and had to go to Jimpex and the Doud sitting on his large excutive chair at the time thought he was so invincible. How the mighty have fallen. But what is good in today's Gambia is that some of those returnees and ones who stayed at home have cut out niches for themselves.

Yes there's worklessness but there are a lot of enterprising people in the arts, agriculture, construction, retail etc. Gambia youth seem to be more focused on becoming responsible for themselves and to make their own contributions to the family rather than depending on long distant relatives to give them money. They are prepared to take on mean time jobs to reach their goals. In fact they seem to have a more enterprising spirit as they see how their environment is transforming around them all of the time and they want to get a piece of the pie. The blame game is a freight train bound for the scrap heap get a grip. Today's Youth get it. They know that they "can do" if they put their minds to it.

Gambia's future is bright because Gambian youth know that they can transform their world and you know something they are transforming Gambia. Easy easy catches the monkey.

I am sorry, just like you I don't like paying taxes,we had Gordon Brown a financial wizard who applied taxes like money had gone out of fashion just to keep people quiet and continue with stupid ideas giving people non jobs just to cut the unemployment and in so doing throwing taxpayers money away for no useful purpose.
Anyway we should talk about Gambia, one problem is that many people in Gambia do not pay tax,why because there is no jobs for them to earn decent money, I am sure you have seen the youths in Banjul pushing carts with 4 lorry tyres loaded with heavy goods to the wholesalers and supermarkets after being unloaded from ships at the port, six strong guys sweat pouring off them doing poorly paid work that should be done by motor transport, what choice do these youths have only this "donkey job" for survival of themselves and their family, you cannot tax those people who have very very little.Where can you raise tax to pay for health and education in the Gambia,I do not know, for the reasons that I have recently given, which people would you tax Nyarikangbanna ?

It has just been reported that an additional 20 million Dalasis is going to be used for evacuating more Gambians. Senegalese and Guinea Bissau citizens are among those evacuated today according to GRTS.

$14,000,000 "loan" .

Unlike you I do not know everything about the Gambia, you must be very comfortable knowing so many rich Gambians,it is a fact that there are very many average Gambians who have their survival under the extended family system that often means that one man with a job looks after MANY members of his family who have no job,all the people that I have just mentioned make up the VAST MAJORITY of Gambian citizens, lovely houses the MINORITY may well live in from "the thriving businesses in the Gambia" I remember one such thriving business that used to exist in Gambia for many years JIMPEX are they still in the Gambia enjoying good buisness NO they have gone elswhere. I consider it a privalige to know workless Gambians,as these are the majority of Gambians, poor farmers who never get paid for their groundnuts in cash and have to make do with promisery notes which MAY be redeemed after a year, who have struggled to bring their produce to the collection points and have no money left to transport their goods back,so they take the notes and leave, please think about the average Gambian and stop trying to convince yourself that the rich people are the average Gambian, you know, I know, everybody on bantaba knows the situation, remove those rose tinted glasses and see the truth Sister Omega.

Toubab stop missing around I'm not retracking the fact that there are wealthy people in Gambia. I refuse to play these silly games with you, and in fact I think your tone in regard to people having a better standard of living in Gambia is hard to believe. I would suggest the next time you visit Gambia that you travel away from the Tourist centre and have a look for yourself. Nyari I am not saying that the majority of Gambians are wealthy in the material sense of the word.
In my view there is no romanticism in being poor. I do however believe in the principle of social mobility and there is nothing wrong with that. After all where does it say that if you were born poor then you must die poor, and if you were born rich you must die rich? When your in Gambia do you go around blindfolded? Come on let's keep it real. Politics is not about bear faced lies. The reality is that there are more wealthy people in Gambia now than there were before despite all of the BS you like to spout off. So chew on that and come back with some better arguments.
