Kobo,

Here is yet another example of how Yaya Jammeh is stealing votes even long before they are cast. The sole purpose of any interest group touring the whole country, holding talks with principals of the Local Government institutions like commissioners and Area Council chairpersons is undue interference.

Those Mandinka Banjul society agents are pure breed of hypocrites and parasites to the decent social order of Gambia. They have some nasty motives for what they are doing and deserve to be condemned. They are unjust, sinister, and hold very bad intentions for whole of Gambia.

Touring Gambia with a message to keep Yaya Jammeh in power is war against decent Gambians. This initiative is bad and ugly.

The Banjul Mandinka Society chooses a tribal fora to preach tribal-neutralism.
“This is why the Society deem it necessary to come out to our own people(mandinkas) to discuss with them on how we can develop the good culture and tradition and make them to think positively towards the development of our nation and to forget about tribes or region when it comes to development which is in the interest of all.”

This is a clear indication that 'The Banjul Mandinka Society' is en entity that differentiates itself from all Gambians (including mandinkas)-what authority is it claiming to have and who is represented.

Janko,

That is perfect good question. By proclaiming in the good name of 'Mandinka', everything is clear that they are playing colourful tribal card. What has the word Mandinka and Banjul to do with people living in Kerewan North Bank and Basse Upper River?

A social organisation claiming to have existed for 50 years is yet to reach its OWN PEOPLE just 5 months before national elections. Their message is purely political and far from unification of the Mandinka. They have shown no concern for THEIR OWN. These people are moving around the country with Jammeh dirty money stuffed in their deep waramba pockets.

Some of these are failed business people with loans and the only salvation is to beg the blood sucking vampire of Kanilai for dirty money.

Kobo, you have seen it right. The alarm bells are loud and clear. You see, if it was UDP that goes with the message for Mandinka voters, Jammeh will have them shot down. Equally, any other ethnic group for that matter. How can Yaya Jammeh condemn tribalism and still give away dirty money to a tribal group to campaign for him?

There we go again; crying foul across the Atlantic. What Jammeh is doing is basic human instinct. He is at the top and wants to stay there. If decent citizens cannot unite for the sake of the country and uproot him then one cannot blame him for using legal political means to ensure the survival of his regime.
There is nothing criminal and or unethical about using interest groups; no one can link Jammeh to a crime. He has out smarted, out worked every Gambian Politician in recent times. Just remember the battle is about winning hearts and minds of Gambians and the opposition has failed to do that. It is our own people who Jammeh is winning over.
If those of us oppose to the regiem cannot unite then the best we can do is let the man be. Wah barry be da fadoi.

Teranga,
The opposition are doing all to counter Jammeh.Imagine when do we have state pay commissioners just to be political tools fot another political party?
Today Gambia has seen Commissioners who are paid by tax payers and they do nothing absolutely other than intimidate people who want change.
Take an example of Omar Khan for instance, why criminally detain Mai Fatty's parents just because they have raised the flag of a party they support. These are the realities on the ground in the Gambia. Today chiefs Alkalolu and commissioners are employed only to campaign for Jammeh failure of which they risk the sark.
I would tell you an incident that happened in WULI NYAKOI. Sutukonding Alkalo who is a brother of Hon. SEEDIA JATTA was fired by the commissioner because Seedia normally resides in their compound and because the Alkalo did not send Seedia parking, he was sarked. Former MP Duta Kamaso's brother was appointed Alkalo instead. The villagers who are very wise knowing they cannot openly fight government, decide to every year collect the tax and take out what Alkalous receive and give it to Mr Jatta the dismissed Alkalo and take the rest to the commissioner and when the commissioner refused to take the money, they would bring it back to the village and luck it inside the village store till government need the money. This had continued for four to five years and when they realised the villagers would not relent, the shameless prostitute Omar Khan gave up and reinstate the sarked Alkalo after getting the green light from his boss.
What type of Gambia do we have? If you say let the man be!I would be surprised because how do one let a mad man be?

Janyanfara; the urgency of the problems you just told me should have forced our political leaders to form a union. If that cannot happen all we are doing is shedding tears for no reason. If your leaders fail to put the interest of the Gambia first then we deserve Jammeh and we should let him be.

Thanks

I belief in the power of the people no otherwise and if the leaders in the opposition as you feel failed to live up to expectations, then the people should replace them with other compitent ones.Don't you think of yourself as capable to bring about the change you think Gambians deserve?

Bro according to Nyari I am not smart enough. Lol. On a serious note I do not think it is in the nature of Gambians to start a revolution/movement. I think it will take a leader to spark a revolution/movement.

My mother in law is visiting and she is a blind APRC loyalist, no matter what I tell her she looks only at the developments that APRC brought to her door steps; it is people like her that the opposition needs to win over. Without unity and a vocal and aggressive leader this will not be possible.

The sad thing is as Jayanfara emphasized or tried to establish the fact that in todays Gambia there is an urgency in regards to commissioners involving in political malice is baseless unfounded and and just hopeless. First of all Jay, get it right you are still stuck in the 90s it's governor Khan. He is the Governor equivalent to a president in his region. He receives orders from the hierarchy and word was Samba Terrorist and his family are already breaking the IEC rules and regulations. The order was to arrest whoever was responsible. We don't live in a lawless society as weak and lame as some of these laws are, there is a need for it and these are facts that have been established and proven right as time passes. Like most titles and jobs in Gambia there is an over lapse of duties hence some of the problems faced by authorities........................................................................Peace

Commissioners are no longer commissioners and you know it.What work do they do?Tell me if you know. As for Omar Khan if you say he represents Yaya Jammeh, then are you saying yaya ask him to go after young girls he could fathered? I know Omar khan and had worked with him and he knows what I am taqlking about if he reads Bantata.Omar Khan would rather bribe me all his savings not to expose him for I know his deeds more than his wife.
My brother these old dogs are posionious to any descent society. They are clinging on Isatou Njie to retain positions because Isatou is married to his brother. What sort of Gambia is that?I belief positions should be given base on qualifications and not otherwise.

Leaders come and go but the Gambia remains. So arresting someone just because they belong to another party and hosting that party flag, I don't know when that became a crime. If as you flatly want to lie saying it was a viloation of IEC rules, then why didn't the IEC act or come up with a clarification. Did you know what happens? Those family members of Mai Fatty are released and the flag is still on top of the roof and villagers have raised more KMC flags I was taking to one of the KMC youth leaders in Wuli Nyakoi from Mai's village yesterday and he confirmed that many have now openly shown their support of KMC by raising the party flag. Why did the commissioner have to release those perpetrators? And Moe did you know what your man mad Omar said? that he released the young Fatty because that man is confirmed insane! Can you immagine some one doing his bussiness and looking after his family calling such a person insane is beyond me.Maybe Omar is going nuts. Brutality has never last. READ HISTORY
