Folks,
I too find this disturbing, & sorry for the double post...
Irresponsible Comments! http://observer.gm/africa/gambia/article/indian-sentenced-for-calling-gambians-lazy-black-monkeys Whatever angered this man, I don’t think Gambians in entirety or even anyone deserve the label. All along I thought Indians may be closer to black people than other races. Is this truly racism or was this man drunk with Indian wine? If he can say this in the Gambia with his level of tone, wonder if he won't chop off our heads in his own country.....just curious! I wonder when this sweet world of ours will distance itself from these scary vices. Yero

Indians and Pakistanis (in their larger number) are mostly typical racists. Their type of racism is interesting. They readily bow down to race and choose trampling on others races.
This observation is carried over many years and through very close links with Indians and Pakistanis at diverse locations. So Dalton1 don't buy too much of Indian / Pakistani stock if you are bothered about racism. |

I believe every ethnic group same potential/equal chances to be racist like everyone else. It is ridiculously funny, some thinks their ethnic group, race are free from racism. Actually that is hilarious. |
diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.
Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

I belief that man had gone too far.No one should allow any non Gambian to insulkt a fellow countryman. When we have our problems lets do it the Gambian way. He is still our president despite I would have wished otherwise but no foreigner should insult him. |

Could there be biased judge? Could that be victim's revenge on boss? Do you trust Gambian justice system? Could Gambian judicial system be racist? Could this man be innocent, but he was victim of 'lynching'? Could this man actually face racism? The indian man was a boss. So, the employee could have motive to take revenge/hurt him because of financial loss.
Imagine. Lebanese and Indian are very wealthy in Gambia. They are not liked that much. I mean, I am not saying Lebanese ppl and Indians are treating Gambians fairly, but many locals do not like them either. Could this play role on unfair judicial process on this case? Or forget about race, without racial streotype, could 'nigerians' get fair trial?
I mean, no one in right mind could say 'black monkeys' in a country where 100 percent is black. No one. It could happen in India, UK, USA, Egypt, Turkey but in Gambia when 99.99999 percent of people 'black'? Unless the person is suicidal. And especially we know how strong the president is. Would anyone dare to make this racial insult? I mean the prosecutor is black, judge is black, witness are black, would there be biased with the proceedings? Could anyone insult president like that?
This unfair proceedings even happens well established western countries where democracy, rule of law, human rights are more established. Could this be unfair trial?

Bro Karamba: Rightly put and some of their belittling actions on black people are very worrying. Well, we got Obama and yet still they haven't realized the potentials that blacks can possess. (lol). What this man uttered is probably rooted in a great many of them. That is really sad. If not for the TV screen and rule of law, I think some good lashes of mob justice on the fellow would have sufficed as well. A friend of mine who studied in Egypt and Saudi told me something similar. He said that some of the mulatoes of arabs in Egypt (Narrs) likes to remind black people of their color, not to mention of the deadly notion rooted in them that the state of being black is a sin.
Thanks, Yero |

Sad isint it? They seem not to know their religious history. Bilal Ibn Rabbah the thenfirst mhousin(caller to prayer), first man to have climed the Kaaba calling people to God, was also Financial minister if you like to call it that way of the the Holy Prophet Muhammad who him self was of the negroid origin. He was also said by the prophet that when he went up to heaven, to meet God, he found Bilal who opened the Gates for him. Remember Ismael son of Ibrahim prophet of God? was who descendants of Khuraish traced their origin from. His mother was an Egyptian complete Black more Black than you Dalton.Even the first palce then muslims could find safe heaven from eveil Arab persecutions was in Africa Abbyssinia (now Ethiopia) |
