An instance of man-animal conflict.

This incident reminds me of an episode I saw in GRTS some months back when residents of Janjangbureh (George Town) were complaining of Hippos in a newly cleard area where they had a rice field in the name of Jammeh's back to the land. Well, the episode did not lead to any physical attacks like this one in India but the rice seedlings were either eaten or trampled upon by the hippos.
GRTS showed the minister of Forestry and Environment who went there to mediate. He told the people that they had encroached the habitat of the hippos and they have to understand that both humans and hippos have to live.
