Thank you to everybody for your kind words and thoughts appriciated I assure you.I did travel along the road to Kerewan for some considerable distance and i was impressed, a fine tar road well built and marked out with good concrete drainage ditches along each side and STREET LIGHTS that were not smashed,I asked why these lights were working and not broken like the traffic lights at Westfield and along the Banjul to Tabacoto highway,my guides answer was very short "Jammah will deal with you in no unceratin way if his lights are broken" I did not persue the matter further !! The departure tax I doubt if that will do any good thing for the tourism season but word around the airport is that it will be included in the ticket price about January 2011,in that way it will be accepted as the usual tour operators increase in prices due to fuel labour costs landing charges commission payments etc etc....

hello toubabv1020, i agree with what you say about north bank, i was most disappointed to see still no decent roads, but with roots festival there feb 2011 and the voting enxt year, guess what things will start to appear.
how did you feel about the departure tax, i was most unhappy.

Thank you Momodou,it was a bit of a shock to come back to the UK where it was freezing instead of the 34degC in The Gambia however I was in luck because the flight was perfect left on time and arrived 10 mins early.
