We will come together our hearts in unison
in our thoughts peace profound abound
truth shall be our weapon our shield of armor
to a future we pray for sustenance and prosperity.

And we do pray to the God most high
that He unravel the world before our eyes
let all of us and all of us will come together
to a future we pray for sustenance and prosperity.

And we will pray for our country, The Gambia
Peace, abundance of love and happiness
let all of us and all of us will come together
to a future we pray for sustenance and prosperity.

These are my thoughts in Wollof this morning as we celebrate our Independence. I hope the wording brings out the actual Wollof translation.

I have also tried to translate the poem again in English. At least to show how closely my thoughts mirrors what I want to say.
