THE HEIGHT OF ARROGANCE AND IGNORANCE IS TO EQUATE BRAVERY AND STRENGTH WITH MANHOOD AND COWARDICE AND WEAKNESS WITH WOMANHOOD

IN DEFENCE OF THE INTEGRITY OF WOMEN

It is common for people to equate bravery and strength with manhood and cowardice and weakness with womanhood. It is evident that the woman who wakes up when the cocks crow to pound coos, carry over 20 litre containers on their heads several times during the day and then cook three meals a day cannot be said to be weak by any standards.

Women who bear birth pangs in order to ensure the propagation of the species cannot be said to be cowards. Hence there is need for re-education of people to know that equating men with trousers with bravery and women with wrappers with cowardice is not only a sign of male chauvinism, but is also a display of ignorance of what is happening in places like Bangladesh and the Far East where women put on trousers while males put on wrappers. Even in Ghana, ceremonial dress for men is a wrapper that hangs from shoulder to toe.

The women should continue to educate their children to respect the mothers who gave birth to them and by extension to all the present and future mothers. This is the best way to defeat the arrogance of ignorant men and cultivate a culture of respect and understanding between men and women.

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.
